Was keeping myself busy on my last leave starting to get everything ready to go back in so I don't waste any time when I get the car back in my garage.

Gearbox, repaired some damaged metal, cleaned, blasted and cerakoted.

This didn't look too bad from the top.

IMG_3589.JPG

But not perfect

IMG_3592.JPG

Underside was not great

Gave the underside a full blast

IMG_3659.JPG

Wanted to keep the textured finish on the topside, so I just lightly etch blasted it at a low psi followed by a coating of Cerakote Velvet Black

IMG_3652.JPG

Really pleased with how it turned out, I think it looks like it could actually be leather.

If anyone wants any parts restored or done in Cerakote drop me a PM.

Thanks guys. Still plenty left next time I am home.

Will be getting the engine onto a stand and making sure that is 100%

Vapour blasted my diff cover and clear coated it with a Cerakote clear. Unfortunately it didn't turn out as I had hoped as there was too much corrosion on the metal and its left behind quite a lot of pitting. It will do for now.

Thinking about my tail lights. I used to like the 260Z setup but I think I now prefer the cleaner look of 240Z setup. What are people thoughts on changing? I'm considering it, of course this would add about £1k to the total cost minus anything I get back from selling the 260Z parts.

Otherwise the rear will look like this, which isn't too bad.

I initially thought I'd change my 260z lights to 240z, but the've grown on me and I'm keeping them.

Are you saying that this is what it will be i.e. reversing light delete or spend £1k on 240 lights?

These look good and unique which is ok on your car.

About £1k to change to 240Z lights I estimate, cost of panel, cost of fitting, cost of new lights and trim panel.

Custom trim panel will cost a bit, already got spare panels to use to help make base mold, but still need cost of mold material and final material. However I'll make a MZR Style custom panel with either setup so it wont matter.

I think it's a slippery slope, if you make it look like a 240 from the outside, you'll start thinking about changing the dash, the door cards etc. Better to just keep it an awesome 260Z

I've always preferred the 260z rear lights and would not have a 240z on that basis, even if i could afford one!

You could go the whole hog and fit something like this.I customised some 240Z taillights so I could fit either
