Having someone like this to restore an S30 makes buying one less of a risk as long as the finances work out.

Wow that is progress. Might take mine to Andy at some point, looks like good value! Pretty sure my battery tray area is going to need replacing at some point.

Well next job for Andy is welding the newly made slam panel and the lower rear valence on but that will be next week as he isn’t working on my car this week worth waiting for 🤓

Wow that’s a lot of hours and equally a lot of money 😬 hope there hourly rat is reasonable 🤔
Can't knock his work, but I thin he is possibly slower than some. Just hard not to feel like an idiot for forking out so much money.

Hourly rate was good but its gone up £10 this year.

Won't ever be doing any extensive restorations after this, once in a lifetime is more than enough.

If you need an alternative Andy who did mine (from rolling shell to fully finished with full engine rebuild) does great work, knowledgeable and very good rates

I wouldn’t feel like an idiot Ian ,probably most of us on here have done something we felt was right at the time but it wasn’t 😬hindsight is a wonderful thing Not. So long as it hasn’t bankrupted you or caused you major distress just go with it being the right thing you will have a great car for years to come and you will deserve it for your commitment so hopefully it will all be done soon and you can enjoy it and forget about the big bills you’ve had ,good luck 👍🤓

Small update went up to see Andy, he’s made strengthening plates for inner wings and also making some strengthening collars to chassis rails and footwells

While I was at Andy’s I also picked up the Bonnet, wings tailgate, light pods, scuttle panel so I could get them bead blasted and strip the flat panels by hand back to bare metal and hopefully not fond to many nasties 😬well the light pod are back from the blaster and not to bad very light corrosion but now rust free a few small dents and a big lump of filler hiding a bigger dent all knocked out now and all epoxy primed als had the tailgate hinges blasted and now all primed up .next up the wing hopefully not to much being hidden under the paint 🤔🤓
