Silverstone Auctions 240z

Just curious, but is that including fees?

£44k plus Silverstone's fee of 15% inc VAT would be £50,600 or more or less what it got to in the sale...?

JK

I think they do quote selling prices including their fees on out of auction stuff, its an old trick they do to make it all look at a bit greener.

It might have changed though.

Silverstone fees are very much negotiable.
They are often reduced in order to achieve a sale not only on unsold cars afterwards but also during the auction day itself if reserve is close.
Chances are they will reduce to between 2% and 5% if pushed in order to complete a sale if a genuine buyer interested, a smaller percentage is better for them than nothing at all.

Hi all, Jeff Wyatt here. I bought the car post Auction. Just joined the club and hope to meet up with some of you soon, where I will tell you about the slightly unusual circumstances of the purchase ! I never actually made a bid at the sale. Love the fast road / rally configuration of the car. me and my Mrs. did a hundred mile jaunt to the Cotswolds' yesterday, both drove it, no dramas at all but yet to work out where the hand throttle is to keep the car ticking over at traffic lights !

Welcome Jeff. They're meant to idle at traffic lights without manual intervention :)

Hello Jeff. Just be careful that it's not flooding on one carb due to a sticky needle valve. Does it smell badly of fuel?

Hi Rob, I have seen your name in the historic paperwork. Looks like you added your touch to the car at some point. the last fella added many rally bits, and the whole look comes together great, and she drives just how I expected. Pleased not brutally quick as wanted the mrs to enjoy it to, which she did, but grabbed her attention shall we say :) . No, not a heavy smell of fuel, nothing extra to what i would expect by a fully tuned up rallyesq car. But the paperwork I inherited actually says there is a "hand throttle" :) buggered if I can see it :)

There isn't a hand throttle but there is a hand choke which I mounted to the transmission tunnel to avoid the plastic console cracking.

yep, and it gives the same result, will test in real life today, but actually kinda fun to blip the throttle at lights too :)

Hi everyone, i have taken over Jeff's membership as he very sadly and unexpectedly passed away about a week after we acquired the Datsun :(. Life has taken a massive about-turn for me and although she is a joy to drive, i cannot see myself competing as Jeff would have wanted to. It would be nice to sell her to someone on this forum who appreciates what a beauty she is. Please let me know if you are interested.
I am planning on going to the Bicester Scramble tomorrow. Is anyone else going?
Although i see it clashes with Silverstone - sadly i don't have a ticket for that event, but i will be just down the road!

Hi Sasha, so sorry to hear about Jeff.

Would you able to make Donington on the 29th/30th?
