Makes sense - will you be fitting a factory roll-over bar? It's essentially just a plate that goes between the body of the car and the two mounts for the vertical drop bars of the factory roll-over 'Safety Bar'.

Re my new belt, its noisy, I tightened it so it doesn't squeal but its way noisier than the old belt. Is there a belt quiet spray or something?Put a new fan belt on. So hopefully a reliable belt now plus the old one as a get-you-home belt in the boot!
what sort or noise Tim?Re my new belt, its noisy, I tightened it so it doesn't squeal but its way noisier than the old belt. Is there a belt quiet spray or something?
It's a rushing/high frequency noise like a constant not quite a squeak but it's not a slipping sound. It's audible with windows down driving. I will experiment with tension but wondered if there was a product people had used to minimise v belt noise.what sort or noise Tim?

Will try that, also some belt dressing spray which I have only just been introduced to!Maybe it's too tight and/or the bearings in the Alternator or water pump pulleys are on the way out. Can you twist the belt by a quarter turn on the longest run?
