This is my vehicle (although 2/2 so system is longer), the L20 must need very different primaries to a tuned L28! Interested in options to suit flat top carbs and retaining low down torque.

Further to my first reply, with the stock 2 litre, would I need smaller primaries to retain low down torque on a pair of flat tops. Planning a new exhaust probably next winter/year as mine is not all stainless.

Ideally would like it all stainless and I plan to wrap the manifold to reduce heat soak to the carbs above.

The 2/2 is longer, is it just the centre section which is different?

Thanks.

Hi Tim.

With an L20, I certainly wouldn't fit larger than 40mm (int diametre) primary pipes as per my Fast-Road manifold.

If you didn't want stainless, I would propose this :https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic19c/15-6001 and wrap or coat it OR get it all in one go :

https://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/classic19d/15-6001CH . Don't wrap but fit an effective and complete heatshield to be totally sure !

For an exhaust line, you could choose my 2+2* version in stainless-steel with your choice of rear silencer....perhaps the JDM to reflect the cars' origins ? PM for details - you will need to do a little work to hook op the MSA header and my line but nothing too complicated and it's been done several times already - I can supply you with an extra V-band fixing to go on the end of the MSA secondary pipe.

*to answer your question - yes, the line is longer between first silencer box and the diff.

I'm liking the idea of the ceramic coating. It seems to offer all that a wrap does. As you say, that plus a heat shield may be the perfect solution.

Is your standard system 2.5 inch internal diameter?
