NMG - the 'name-calling' was a tongue in cheek reference to the tangent discussion about vampires whilst trying to get back on topic.

Funny that you should mention todays' fashion as the car you see is that which I conceived 9x years ago when she left the road. My yellow Z has the wing/headlight pods filled in back from 2004 !

Seriously, I've pâssed enough comments on others cars so I deserve a bit of ragging :).

Speaking of 'The Guild'.....I can't help liking the glass-roof.....kinda tempted by that.

Just for fun - the track-day tyres have Lightening McQueen white walls - I had thought of red bands like the '70s Hot-Wheels' but couldn't find them in 15''.

What car are you planning on putting the Kobe Seiko‘s on?

.....lovely looking car Sean. I did have to look for a while at the front end before I figured out there were no gaps between the wing and the headlight scoops!

Thx. One of the reasons I put the light covers on - to give the front some 'feature details' - it might have looked too much colour mass w/out the gap and wing repeater.....I'm very happy with the finish - Nissan played with the idea of no gaps.

These are replicas, not KS'. Probably the 280Z I recently bought.

What wheels and tyres have you used on this Sean? Are the RKR's? Which colour? Really like the proportions of this setup.

Lovely Car

On the car were Rota RKRs which are not relegated to trackdays with a white-wall band - they were too dark so with the tyres just left a 'black-hole' under the wheelarches.

I swapped to Atara Racing Pisangs....but I forget the colour - antracite ? Have to ask 'datsfun' here on the forum. They're even a tad too dark for me so I might be changing again !

Wheels are 8j15 ET0 with 225/50x15

It’s a lovely thing - nicely done Sean.

The colour is spot on - the long term plan for my white car would be a similar shade.

I can’t quite get away with the light pod /wing smoothing , and I have no idea why . Perhaps I see the light area is a defining feature of the z and it’s lost it’s definition a bit ?

I’m not a great fan of bonnet louvres either but get the practicality .

Classic - and just enough personal touches to stand out.

Thx...I just reckon Nissans' designers wanted a solid wing.....and not sure why people are not favoufred towards grills - nobody complains on an E-Type....they are nVERY practical and OEM on other HLS30s.

I guess Nissans designers had the option but didn’t follow it through - production costs ? Ease of manufacturing ?

Creating a nice smooth look by filling the join and then adding the grills seems a bit contrary looks wise - but I get the practicality completely .

I m a huge fan of the Toyota 2000Gt - smooth wings and vent where the bonnet flaps would be on a z .

I'm sure that it was a Nissan manufacturing decision as one wing would be complicated and expensive to make....and expensive to replace with frontal shocks.

I find the 2000GT over-fussy with details. I love the profile and I like the rear but the front and even the dash are 'too much'....I prefer the Z.

How did you achieve the smooth look on those wings Sean? Welded and leaded? Bonded and filled?

A lot of US body shops swear by the bonded approach. I’ve seen a few classic Mustangs with the rear wing ends bonded on for a smoother look. Interested to know how you achieved it.
