Hi Guys,

After some digging, I have been told that my carbs were built by Hitachi under licence. I am looking for a rebuild kit for them, could you kindly point me in the right direction? I am attaching pictures in case I have miss identified etc...

You have the Hitachi SUs from a 240z. They are commonly known as round tops.

You can get rebuild kits from the Z parts suppliers in the US but they are not cheap and you also have to factor in shipping and import costs. MSA or Z-therapy do them.

One word of caution before you go down that route. Take the joining throttle bar off between the carbs before you order and check for throttle shaft and Bush wear. If there is any play, it won't be worth buying the kits as they will not run properly and you will have wasted your money. As far as I know, you can't replace those parts as they are not available in any kits. You have to remember that the carbs are over 40 years old so are bound to be a little worn. The alternatives are British Hs6 or HS8 SUs or Webers etc.
