We always have a great time at the Sliverstone Classic and 2020 is going to be a corker.
We'll be celebrating the classic Z sports car in style. It'll be 50 years since the Z first landed on our shores and well over 40 years since the formation of the Z Club of Great Britain. So please come and join us for 3 days of fun, classic cars, racing, music, banter and a whole lot more at the Silverstone Classic 2020.

Conviction politics!
Great work in stepping up to the plate Jake
July should be a great month; Le Mans at the start and Silverstone the end :driving:

Nice one Jake. Hope it doesn’t pee down like this year. I’ll be there what ever the weather tho. :)

Are we going to be able to get the tent and feathers there?

Is that the army tent for our soup kitchen & feathers for the pillow stuffers? Yeah shouldn't be a problem :leaving:

It's the weights for holding the gazebo down that are more of a concern, but still not a problem. I hope EXTRA:D

Went last year with the Imp Club but this year it clashes with the Imp National.
Camping was a bit of a swindle last year though.

I've been waiting on some concrete info re this years Silverstone Classic, but it looks like we've still got at least a few weeks before we'll know what's happening. Here's part of an email that came in today from the Silverstone Classic team...…….…………………...

We are paying close attention to the developments with regard to the Government’s COVID-19 roadmap and, in consultation with their Recovery Strategy, we are currently evaluating a number of options for this year’s event. These include:
1. Holding the event on its currently scheduled dates with Government approved changes to how we run elements of the Classic to ensure a safe, socially distanced festival. In this scenario, we would extend the Early Bird offer and the option to book Car Club Display packages for a further period. 2. Postponing the Silverstone Classic from its current scheduled dates with changes to how we run elements of the event to ensure a safe, socially distanced festival. In this scenario, we would extend the Early Bird offer and the option to book Car Club Display packages for a further period. 3. Cancelling this year’s Silverstone Classic. In this scenario, one of your options would be to carry your ticket over to the 2021 event.
We will make a decision on this year’s Silverstone Classic by the end of May and will be back in touch then with details of all the options available to you. Please bear with us over the next few weeks; in these challenging times, we would like to give you every available option and ensure we find a solution that is suitable for you.

It’ll be safe Jake when the MPs are sitting next to each other in Parliament,I notice the teachers can go near other people’s kids but not their own grandchildren, double standards me thinks,I’d take it that’s it’s cancelled just like Le Mans Classic as it might kick off again as not enough of this social distancing done as public transport should’ve been shut down,40 dead bus drivers speaks for itself,Get yer money back mate its better in your account than theirs,

So it's a 'No Go' for Silverstone classic this year. :(

We promised you an update before the end of May… and it is with a heavy heart that we bring you news that the 2020 Silverstone Classic will not be going ahead.

Following the latest Government advice, we have reached the inevitable conclusion that we will need to cancel this year’s event. Given the current circumstances and the outlook on timescales, a postponed event - which was our original back-up plan - in a way that enables us to run the Classic in the manner that you know and love isn’t a feasible option. Our priority at all times is the safety and wellbeing of those attending our events as well as our own team and we know that you’ll understand why this step has been necessary. Our heartfelt thanks must go to all of you for your patience throughout this period of uncertainty.

As an independent events company passionate about what we do, we are proud to have developed the Silverstone Classic into an internationally renowned historic motorsport festival enjoyed across generations of car enthusiasts, families, racing drivers, and petrolheads. In times of difficulty, communities tend to come together and we’re incredibly grateful for your continued support. It means a lot. All of you are what makes the event the success that it is and we hope to celebrate our 30th anniversary with you next year instead.

2020 tickets

Anyone who has a ticket will have the option to roll their tickets over to the 2021 event or request a full refund. There are a number of measures we need to put in place first, but we will be back in touch with all ticket buyers in June with details of the next steps. In light of the current situation, we have a reduced team who are dealing with a high number of enquiries, so please do bear with us.

We’ll be in touch soon. In the meantime, and above all else, stay safe and healthy.

With our best wishes,

The Silverstone Classic Team

Shame as seems the 2020 car show season is shutdown due to covid restrictions of one sort or another

What we could do is to see if we would be able to organise a car convoy to Barnard Castle instead
Not only does it seems a nice place but it is now the Government's advisers preferred place for eye tests

Yes Steve. Do they really think we are that stupid?

As soon as we can we need to get some local meets going - nothing difficult just a meet up and chat.
