Decided to make a new rad mounting panel. As I don't need the holes for the air ducts and wiring looms there was no point trying to make a copy of the original. The centre strut is just holding things in place temporarily. Started making up the right side. Left side tomorrow then make a top panel to mimic the original.

All this was missing when I got the car.

Almost enjoying this

Trial fit to see if the rad panel is in the right place.
Happy with my weekends work

Another good day in the workshop. Infill panels made to block off the area from the rad panel to the front edge of the wings. Wings and original airdam trial fitting. Just need to figure out a way to get the car on and off the trailer with the airdam attached without having to carry extra long ramps, then I can go back to using this

Congrats Woody.....

Workshop slowly coming together.

Some new toys :) Decided to get another tool chest, save the inevitable irritation of moving current stuff from my garage, leaving me without home tools. Not sure of quality yet, but good price.

New Toys.jpg

Taken delivery of the Vapour Blaster, but just trying to sort out practical layout of workshop and settling on which compressor. In a bit of a quandary over compressor, just agreed to move across to a new larger unit, slightly bigger at 1,200 SqFt, new build, and fully insulated, plus option of 3 phase. Think I'll stick with single phase compressor Clarke XE37/270 which is 36cfm and more than enough.

So, looks like I'll be moving all the stuff again when the new unit is completed in around December, so will concentrate for the moment on hooking everything up as is (and not building partition behind where the blasters are) and hopefully get Christine in there next week and start playing with me blasters!.. :)

Not Z related however I've officially passed all of my tests and now the proud owner of a full A license! :hurray: Quite fortunate to pass everything first time as I wouldn't have had time to retest before leaving the country, another expensive hobby to fund now....

Snuggled someone up for winter:

Still inflating in the pics; first time I’ve used one of these but impressed with how quickly it goes up. Took the opportunity of no rain and reasonably dry roads to take the Z over to the barn. I’ve got the drying vent open though just to make sure.

Now to move Dixie home, once I get a decent quote for covered transport. I don’t want to move it unless it’s dry/is undercover, given the Novol bodywork primer is hydroscopic.

Very nice Richie.

Noted from website, "Importantly, the circulating air is taken from inside the storage unit itself, which effectively isolates the flow of air from the outside environment."

When I think of the cost of dehumidifying my garage over the winter, this seems much more an economic option and better overall solution/protection in the long run.

Where did you guys get that rotisserie from? I hired a pretty similar one over 10 years ago to put the fastback on (£2 a day!) it worked a treat ... must dig out a pic.

As for the Z, I dusted it dow, removing a lot of crap from the top that had been collecting dust ...

I’m going to move it over a bit as I’m replacing the single-glazed window with a double-glazed one.

I got mine from Ade Foreman Light Engineering. They’re not too expensive. I’m hoping mine arrives soon.

Ade Foreman engineering. Either floor mounted/ on wheels ( the one I have got) or a monster on wheels that will take a complete BIG car.

With the Ade Foreman rotisserie just watch out for the bolt pin as it has sheared in two on mine! I don't know if mine had a defect in the metal or if it was the rotational load on it but just a warning for you guys if your working under it and it goes, always good to have something else supporting or as a safety limit if something goes wrong when your under the shell.
