Can anyone shed some light on what is needed to create the correct curve for the mechanical advance in my distributor.

I have slight understanding on the way this works with the weights. Is there an exact weight they need to be and specific springs that need to be fitted?

Appreciate any help.

The main thing to do is reduce the total mechanical advance achieved (by upto 10 degrees?) so you can add it to the static advance. You achieve that by reducing the length of the weight guide slot in the rotor.
On mine I took about 5mm or so out by filling the end with plastic metal. Weld is the more conventional method[emoji4]
