Yes, saw him race a few times.
He very nearly died in 1976 so perhaps he did well to live this long really.

legend nearly killed then back in a race car in 40 days cant see the currant f1 driver doing the same but back then racer had some balls and lauda had the biggist RIP
Yeh, he won the World Title in '77 but he VERY VERY nearly won it in 76 the year of his crash. Lost out by ONE point.

Saw him entering the paddock at Monza a few years back. I was stood where all the drivers were going in so there was a load of excited fans trying to get pictures and autographs but when he went past there was just a different air about him. He was something different and everyone realised that
