What did you do to your Z this week?

With the engine and s14 box now ready to go in the RHD silver car, I've continued playing with the throttle bodies for it. These need respaceing a little to match the triples inlet manifold. I had the small bike inlet stubs machined yesterday to fit the manifold and CNC bored to match it so its moving on.

Took some new pics of the Zed for agreed valuation (thanks in advance to Mike). I had no idea I had to do it every year, this being only the second year I have done it - especially since I am staying with the same insurer. Will be interesting to see if the value has gone up in the last year. Here are few pics...

Fitted new (better condition) mirror switches which arrived the other day from ebay in the US. Test fitted them first, but the mirrors wouldn't move. Took them apart and after a bit of a clean they are now working perfectly.

Also added a new sticker.... sorry couldn't help myself.

Mike, got to love that final BAT 110 Red Zed price.
Very close to your car....now that's some appreciation.

Wow, Mike! Was out last night and so didn’t see that. Good cars bring the best money I know but was this car THAT good? Must have been the originality that swung it and as you know, you only need two determined prospective buyers and the price soon rockets.

Had to peel the old one off like a banana...

Didn't get time to road test yet but quick blipping test on the drive proved to be the same or quieter than the old one which is frankly astounding given I can see right through it!!!!! Shows how much I know about exhaust design! I worked hard to get a Z into this picture [emoji6] an idea for Sean's next photo shoot [emoji14]

The car sounds a lot less raspy and now deeper, verging on TVR burble!

Got the interior fully stripped out, had time to get the BMW engine and box into place, and made up some engine mounts

Went to visit RIDDLER Sunday to reunited him with the Z and to see his Volvo P1800. As you would expect with his cars, the P1800 was immaculate, very nice indeed Rob.

Took a spin down to a country pub, had a very nice lunch and took a few photos. Then headed off to BOB-ON's to collect the last bits n bobs (pardon the pun) for Addison's car, emblems etc. Cataloguing all atm, some very interesting OEM parts and will post up photos shortly

I met-up with RIDDLER too. We met at the 'Crewe and Harpur' near the Swarkstone Causeway.

Very enjoyable. I loved his Volvo, didn't think I would but it's the nicest I've seen and so 60s. An absolute 'Classic Car' and the body panels/chassis members are so strong. I've had a look and it weights about 100kg more than a Z - I assume the engine is a lot lighter too.

Interesting.. 100kg more than a Z.. must be the sheet metal!.. The engine bay is pretty sparse. Agree, one of, if not the nicest P1800's I've seen. Rob, did you clock the little time piece on the dash RIDDLER added?.. Plus the emblem on the rear... Done with style.. :)

Fixed an irritating squeak in the steering column on my Z. Been round today to see DC Engine Builder and the progress on Addison's engine. Engine is dismantled, breakaway torques taken etc.. Great stuff!..

Hopefully he'll be posting up shortly.
