[SOLVED] Crank sprocket replacement and timing belt change.

I’ve been working on fitting a new radiator but whilst things where off I’ve had all the timing gear off to change the crank seal. If anyone is attempting this then word of warning as if like mine, it has probably been on since new and was solid. The only way to get it off as you can’t get a pulled behind it is to drill several holes progressively larger to split the pulley. You have to be very careful as to not damage the crank. I’m the end it took me 3 hours of drilling and I’d advise removing the front bumper and radiator.
It’s all piece of mind to change all 3 seals and cam belt with tensioner whilst it’s all off.
Ive also made a little mod to the new sprocket so a puller can be used next time by drilling and tapping two holes.

thats a genius idea putting the 2 threaded holes in the new one although hopefully you won't have to take it off again.

Cheers jimbo but I must confess I got the idea frI’m an owner in the USA! It’s well worth doing if your keeping the car.
It’s a N/A vg30 but I suppose it will be the same for most similar engines.
