U.K. Parts supply

With Mike F in hospital and out of action, is there anywhere else I can get a front track control arm ball joint and a pair of steering rack mounts for my 240
I rang Fourways and the lady said she would get back to me but never did.

To be honest I think 'our' supply of parts and specialist services for S30s is quite critical and the worst since I bought my first Z in 1996.

Nearly all of the specialists have 'packed up' and parts supply was never good but MrF and Pmac kept us going.

ebay is our friend.

Same thing I am asking, as I need rubber and busing kit, suspension, radiator, window and door rubbers for when mone starts to get rebuilt, not too far off....

MSA = Motorsport Auto.

I.e. The biggest Z parts supplier in the US and source for a lot of Mike's parts (that's who he is talking about when placing bulk orders from the US).

There are then a variety of other businesses over there dealing in more niche and tuning parts. Z Car Depot, ZCCJDM, Whitehead Performance, various other eBay sellers, etc, etc. I'm sure SacCyclone will suggest others.

There's also RHDJapan for the really nice JDM stuff direct from Japan, especially if you are into Kameari goodies. That's where I got my car's Fujitsubo twin system from. The Yen rate is not as favourable as it was a year or two ago though and will get worse.

The supply situation in the UK is precarious - as shown by Mike being ill. Once he finally retires (he's not allowed!) we are screwed if needing something quickly.

Is Whitehead still going - maybe they've changed their website address but I couldn't get it up the other night.....so the wife said....!

We aught to have a note somewhere to list all the z part suppliers.
I think if we are to rely more heavily on overseas suppliers trying to get group buys might be a good way to go.

Not heard of Whitehead so probably no longer in existence.

As an expat now residing in Canada with only an hour drive to the US border, should I be looking to start a Canuck to UK export business? Exported one 912 now to the UK to a well known 'internet famous' car world figure...now looking at doing the same with a 74' 911T, and I guess Z parts too?

Whitehead are just up the road from me if anyone wants something particular and doesn't like their freight charges.

www.whiteheadperformance.com

Go to the e-store page there for all the bits.

Another one:

http://jdm-car-parts.com

Lots of interesting detail bits there like decals, as well as JDM parts. Pricey though.

Edited to also add www.rockauto.co.uk. US mega car parts site with extensive range of Z service parts and all sorts. Cheap parts prices, although shipping is the primary expense. Pretty quick though. My orders from them have taken about a week.

Perhaps, as part of the club shake up might be an area where all these links to various suppliers across the globe might be listed with their specialism, etc noted so we all know where to look for things we need...?
Just a thought
