How many 240z's in Uk

Being a new 240Z owner, I would like to know a bit of background, if anyone has the info.
Roughly :
1) How many 240Z's were imported into the UK
2) How many are registered with the club / still running around ( more difficult I know)

This is probably an old topic on the forum, but I have looked through the 240z section and can't see anything related to this
Thanks
Adrian

Congrats on your new purchase. :)

Very approximately I know about 1900 240z's were imported.

The DVLA figures a few years back showed about 150 still taxed in the UK, but I would have hoped that that number would have increased as cars are imported from abroad and more restored cars seem to be appearing.

regards

I always thought that 1609 were officially imported (obviously excludes personal imports during and since the model was commercialised) !

150 now seems about right given importations (plus) but accidents/theft/exportations/brzak-ups for parts (minus) !

I'd like to know how many 260's have survived too (split 2-seater and 2+2). And, of the survivors, how many are in good or show-worthy condition? I often get "Don't see many of them these days!" said to me, so I'd like to be able to spout some accurate figures back.

Thanks,

TL

If you do a search of the web site searching "smmt" the results give you all the discussions on numbers of cars still registered for each model. Mike Feeney has posted the figures as they come up. Figures for 2001 240z = 152 taxed or on sorn 260z =157. I think this 260 figure is for both 2 seater and 2+2. This does not include cars under repair or in fields etc.

Once I get my 240 back on the road that will be another one to swell the numbers. I should have the car back by Thursday, fingers crossed. Taxed on Friday, driving round like a loon on Saturday.

150 or so is what I thought. I wonder what the 2str/2+2 split is. It's certainly nice to be driving something rare - I'm sure all Z owners feel the same!

260,s rarer than 240,s more 2 seaters than 2+2,s At a guess, about 90 2 seaters to 60 2+2,s & definatly less 2+2,s that are taxed & roadworthy. P.S .........PMAC,s ....BACK.....................................................................................................................DJZ 60.

what about untaxed cars

Any way the club can identify how many untaxed cars there are still out there?

Be nice to know how many potential restoration projects could be back on the road in years to come ( or how many cars there are still left for pmac and zedhead to send to the scrapper;) )

Just got rid of one last weekend in Sheffield.
Got another one to view this coming week. Sounds like a scrapper but wont know till I see it. Ill take the 9" cutter hidden inside a wad of used £5 notes, tell the owner its going to a good home, then "Kerpow!!!! out comes the cutter and its gone in 4 hours.
It gets kind of habit forming after a while!!! Just do it for the buzzz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
