SU carbs do not like excess pressure. I seem remember it's 4psi they are comfortable with (you'll need to check that). The S30 mechanical fuel pump will deliver this level of pressure. If you go electric you might then need a fuel pressure regulator. Its worth getting the Haynes SU Carburettor...
