    Porsche v 240Z

Folks, let’s compare eggs with eggs In 1971, the Z was 2.4 litre and the 911 was 2.2. The Datsun came in one spec, at circa 150hp, the 911 came in three, the 120 hp T, the 150 hp E and the 180 hp S. Ironically the E was quicker to 100 MPH, but the S was quicker beyond that up to 140+ MPH. I can...

    240Z at Goodwood MM

I had a look at the white car on Saturday. Looked OK, a few paint chips, along the swage line at the bottom of the door and cills there was some signs of work and the joints between the sugar scoops and the wings weren’t clean either.

    240Z Street Suspension Setups

Mick, you're not driving it quick enough ;) I always found it most comfortable when kept over 70. Yes, raising it up a tad would help the exhaust clear those sleeping rossers. (or get one of Sean's systems, ofcourse)

    240Z Street Suspension Setups

My old Z the ex Status, now Cliff 240 has a Leda set-up in it, with adjustable spring seats for 2.5 springs. The car came with what I think is a reasonably soft set circa 120/130 lbs springs, it was OK but crashed out on bumps when pushed. I did some calcs using Alan Staniforth's great old book...

a 'Nut and Bolt' restoration. A how to guide.

Reason: Unnecessary escalation Hmm give the previous 121 pages of this thread, I think we're a bit late trying to de-escalate it now ;) Anyway on with the show, more pics please, Don, we're getting to the point when the Devil is in the Detail

    Chris Sclater & Datsun

Folks In case you have missed this, Chris Sclater has produced a well detailed book cover all his rallying activities in the 60s and 70s. Among all the Fords and Vauxhalls he also drove 240 & 260 Zs as well as the later Violets. There are some good remarks and pics, so you may like to buy...

    Monte Carlo Rally

Rob When I can I listen to the Live Feed radio reporting, decent well informed reporters interviewing the crews at the finish of each stage. Yes the TV shows are pretty poor and must admit I record them and then whizz through the boring bits when replaying ;) The in-car stuff is often too...

For those who don't like rallying

Two good choices of vids there guys. Frank Kelly has become an internet sensation in his Escort, nicknamed Baby Blue, have a look at the rest of his vids, one of the many Mk2 nutters in Irish rallying. There’s a great time lapse one of him rebuilding the car after a big off a couple of seasons...

    Rallying could be under threat.

Rob From my experience there has been a lot done by the MSA and the clubs, since that accident in creating more prohibited areas and larger safety zones and certainly I have been officiating on stages where they have been stopped until offending spectators have been moved to approved areas...

    A Winter Toy?

Yes very big over here at the minute, the weapon of choice is the MX5, to the point where there aren't any cheap one left (i.e. Under £3k). Charging down farm lanes or timber yards and the like is great fun. I got the Fiesta as my daughter is also using it in Forward Only Autotests, plus it...

    A Winter Toy?

In my post Z life, I've bought a plaything in the shape of a 2005 Fiesta ST A 2 litre in a Fiesta is a real hoot, for around £2k they're VFM, and never having had a Ford before I was surprised at the good build quality. Plus you have the novelty off going into a motor factors and they have...

4 240z at Harwood hill climb

Guys Just dropped in to the forum and found this. Great to see a Z going up Harewood, something I did not manage to do Mick, as I only competed in single seaters there at BHC rounds, winning the class a few times and getting the class record back in 2002. OKJ looks as good as ever, you must...

    Start of a new adventure

Hmm got to be the Tw*t Post of the Year, a simple search of Ben's posts would have quickly lead you to the story. Ben, I hope it all goes well, variety is the spice of life ......and speed eventing ;) Just started my daughter on autotesting, plus she has the pleasure of sitting with me on Lanes...
