FS: Plastics4Performance Lexan UV Race S30/240/260/280Z windows

I'm in Ontario, Canada (fled during the 2008 recession) but happy to ship back to the homeland at cost. Selling a pair of custom manufactured unfitted, undrilled 5mm Green Lexan UV protected polycarbonate S30 door windows (Left and Right). Manufactured by Plastics4Performance in the UK. 50%...

    U.K. Parts supply

As an expat now residing in Canada with only an hour drive to the US border, should I be looking to start a Canuck to UK export business? Exported one 912 now to the UK to a well known 'internet famous' car world figure...now looking at doing the same with a 74' 911T, and I guess Z parts too...

    280z desirable?

If anyone has questions about a 280z, I can happily answer them being that I owned a dog of a 72' 240Z before emigrating to Canada where I got myself a running 280z. One noticeable difference that I think I've PM'd Alan before (for his fastidious records) is that the 78's don't have the roll...

Technical Q about L28 'flattop' pistons.

franky, if you were referring to mine, they were laser etched not engraved. Given it's on the combustion face, makes zip all difference.

Technical Q about L28 'flattop' pistons.

Jon, I've just done an update on my engine build on retrorides - http://retrorides.proboards.com/post/2030845/thread I asked Emilio (who has built more than a few L6's in the past) what he did with my pistons/rods. He did a freeze fit, i.e. heat the stock rod end and slip over the pin...

Technical Q about L28 'flattop' pistons.

Hehehe It's funny you say this, I have an 05 Subaru Legacy GT wagon...just had a full engine rebuild with forged JE's, believe me, I know from experience what a slappy engine is line, the boxers are among the worst for it, usually because the builder hasn't given enough space for ring...

Technical Q about L28 'flattop' pistons.

Hi Jon, I've got the datsunspirit.com pistons in a 87mm overbore, which are just rebadged kameari pistons. My engine builder is due to finish the whole engine build on Friday, and he's using stock L28 (albeit polished and peened) rods so I can ask him what he did when I see him and get back to...

    Watanabes

Heh. You make a very fair point! Can't say I'd do it now, but it's an option. For those who were interested, I'm running 225/50/16 on the front (16x9) and 245/50/16 on the rear (16x9.5). Offsets...I will find!

I should add, I don't run spacers of any kind. Stock drums/discs, they fit under the Marugen flares perfectly.

Photos on my build thread. http://retrorides.proboards.com/thread/86608/1978-datsun-280z-happening-2014?page=9 I'll find the offsets tonight. They're shod with Falken ZIEX ZE912's - Canadian weather makes R888's somewhat of a death wish on greasy leaves in fall. Running 245/50/16 and...

I bought mine through Kiyo (Enari Kiyotaka) he's the US distributor (one guy!) for Watanabe, although I believe JDM legends are now also. Super pleasant experience, very good at emailing back, shipped them through a friend on a US air base to cut down the air freight to almost nothing (to Canada...

    Dans 240Z

Dan, Without wanting to sound morbid, is there a chance of seeing the crashed shell? I'd be interested to know where the weak points are that the cage left exposed? James

    Rear Lamp Strip down

Basically, hot soapy water will make the white sealant pliable enough to pull the lens from the housing. Just don't rush it or you'll likely crack the bulb housing. I ran the blade of a thin penknife in-between the lens and housing too. Some 'sticky residue remover' left to soak on the remnants...
