...and nice to hear that they now have an O² sensor plug.
Who did you hear it from? Not from Fujitsubo, I think.
I read it from the same forum Jason did
Maximimum output (when fitted to the L20 engine) = 69.9kw / 95ps (where Wiki quotes "Fairlady Z (1970–1983). It produces 85kw / 115 PS")
LOL. I don't think you understand the description.
So, please do explain better.
* Some processing may occur during installation due to old cars. We will not be responsible for any costs or complaints in that case.
Perfectly fair, I'd say. If your 50-year old car is non-standard, they cannot possibly be expected to make allowances on a case-by-case basis. Especially on an exhaust system which is certified legal for road use in Japan by JASMA and has gone through the certification process to allow that.
I agree, perfectly fair - merely listing it as a caveat
* As this product is a functional product, we cannot guarantee it except for initial product defects that are clearly caused by our company.
And? What's wrong with that? Do you guarantee
your products against mis-fitting and misuse by end-users?
I work with every client who contacts me with any fitting issues whether due to my parts, their work of a cars' mods. And yes, we've already discussed my gaurantee - had you forgotten ? I'll replace any failed part free and any road/track damaged part at cost, normally implying free postage.
* The heat shield must be processed
. Cannot be installed on vehicles equipped with a genuine air cleaner box .
I don't know about anyone else, but I would not expect anything else. What's the problem?
You might not but almost all clients do expect to fit after-market headers with a stock heatshield - fact and one that even Fujitsubo recognises...otherwise they wouldn't mention it, no doubt from repeated dealer feedback. Again, quite fair to say so - and I might add you appear to take my quoting it as some form of criticism which is far from the truth - again, simply quoting the products caveats.
I remember a few years back on the classiczcars thread where you stated that, in your opinion, Fujitsubo should (somehow?!) curate every individual sale to the end user, even when bought through unauthorised third-party vendors like Whitehead Performance.
Yes, I did and I beleive that when a producer sells via third parties, their client-responsability doesn't end there. The producer owes it to their clients and their own quality reputation to ensure that their parts are concisely and correctly described for the end-clients satisfaction.
You buy yoghurt from a supermarket and it tastes 'wrong', you take it back to the shop BUT there are also customer service contact details on the pot you can also contact.
How could the manufacturer possibly do that? Bizarre.
Oh yee of petty imagination : simply but looking through the listings of said dealers - there aren't thousands of them and requesting/suggesting corrections/additions. Even a simply newsletter update from the producer to each dealer would have the desired effect.....doesn't take much doing.
Strange that you always seem so exercised about FGK's products. I wonder why that could be...?
Purely because they're consistently the only ones ever quoted on Z forums - what about their own JDM competition ? If people only talk about Fujitsubo, I can only be 'exercised' about them. Quote other makes and let us freely discuss them all - I have no hates nor preferences.
