Hey there everyone,

I just managed to grab my first Datsun 240z with the help of Rob Gaskin from the Z Club! Thanks Rob for the tip and all your help getting in contact with the previous owner that led to me getting my dream car. The car many of you may already know is called Fergus and was owned by Martyn M (not sure of his username on the Z Club).

As a younger chap whose had very limited experience with classic cars I was hoping to get a few tips here and there if people can spare them!

Also I was hoping to get a market value evaluation as I've been told by a few friends that I shouldn't insure it for the price I bought it but market value instead? The car has a few upgrades including, L28 engine swap, triple webers, electric ignition and fuel pump, aftermarket exhaust and a few other bit and pieces.

Thanks everyone and I'm glad to be a part of the club!

Hi and welcome!

The car looks great, and If Rob helped source it then I'm sure it's just as good as it looks :)

Looks good. There may be a difficulty in the engine swap dramatically reducing value. That said, it is a survivor and (in my view) a best colour.

Looks like a nice buy and a good car, I'm sure you will get a lot of enjoyment from it.

You got one in the best colour also.
