Having built x4 Orange Zeees over recent years it’s time for a change.
With a new build starting I thought I’d post up photos as it goes.
Im starting with a very solid LHD 240z (with nice straight panels )that currently has had the bulkhead
Conversation done to RHD .
At the moment my paint guy has a bit of a back log so I’m doing work on the mechanical stuff
He are a few starter photos of the car as is

At the moment I’m working on rebuilding a engine for her
I purchased a 280z earlier this year with (as Rylan says on the cinch advert ) a tasty motor
Shortly after having the engine set up on the Dyno (242hp) it decided to throw all its oil out.
I’ve since fitted another stock l28 in the 280z and have been rebuilding the old engine for the 240z.

I thought I would get away with just a crank regrind and to a degree I have but ended up have the block
Rebored using Kameari pistons and a set of maxspeeding rod.

Will it be a standard Datsun colour or something different?
Something different I’m 99% sure I’m going Military grey.
I asked my paint guy to do a couple of spray out card of different colour he then suggested dropping a panel
Over and he’d paint it I the colour.
What’s your thoughts might not be everyone’s taste

I'm a fan. I am going a dark grey with mine myself.

Very nice!
I'm planning on going Nissan KH2 (common on R32 GTRs) on the Lambo orange 280Z I recently bought.
It was the colour I thought would best suit the brown interior.

I like the grey, but in a modern world and of course IMHO only, it's nothing special, I'm with Paul_S and would say a warm metallic yellow would really stand out in the orange crowd :D

So that’s the primer, when the top coat going on?

I jest of course but grey is just that to me, grey … and there’s a VW colour that is exactly like a primer. It’s all opinions though … if I do another resto I’d go for some chalky white colour … not washing machine white.
Choosing colours is very difficult. That’s why you can’t go wrong with an original paint colour imo (no matter how modified the rest of the car is) …

I agree choosing a colour is always a tough shout.
Guess that’s why I’ve stuck with Orange ( been a safe bet)

Again for a bit of a change I’ve got a set of gunmetal Rota grids with Yamaha piano black lip
Hmmmm.....

My Sunbeam Imp Sport was Polar white from the factory in 1972 but had a respray in 'appliance' white just before I got it back in 2007/8.
It's away being stripped at the moment and I've decided on BMW Pepper White which is what you see on a lot of BMW Minis. A creamy white more in keeping with the look.
