Yes after a bit of wrangling £15,000 and after a wipe down I keep finding out that it’s better than I could ever have hoped for, bit over dramatic but it does feel like a privilege to own it
Happy days

What is the significance of the 280ZX on the front of the old mag?

VRF Reg, that would be North Staffs - anyone know where the picture was taken? I'm from North Staffs.

FIFTEEN BLOODY GRAND!

I know right? - As mentioned in the other thread it does need a bit of welding but I've certainly not seen a bargain like this since I've been a member.

EDIT: LOL, just found it on Google maps - you can see the damn thing through the dealership front window in 2018! How on earth did it not get bought before now?

According to the picture, the front cover photo from this magazine was and I quote: "Steve Ovenden, Winner of the 1988 Driving Skills Competition, flanked by Simon Labbett and Alan Budd our "tame" I.A.M. examiners" There was also a report on Page 19 of the edition. In the previous edition it mentioned that the meeting was to be held in Chichester.

Q: wheels:
I was thinking about putting mini lite wheels on the car and keeping the original steel wheels and trims for special occasions does anybody have any suggestions as to an appropriate size all the American YouTube videos Seem to favour very large eight front and eight 1/2 J 16 inch rear .I’m looking for a slightly European refined look and I would gratefully appreciate any advice as to where to purchase wheels new or secondhand but I guess news most likely and any suggestions as to alternatives would be welcome also cheers Carl PS am I able to upload videos ?

Fuel Tank
Good Evening, I have just dropped the tank on my car and it is totally cream crackered, it is I’m certain beyond repair any pointers as to where to get a replacement either new or reconditioned or just a half decent used one not keen on the £1000 option
Also: Wheel Option.
I found a great thread done 2018 by A Scottish Z club member about alloy Wheels He ended up getting Rota RKR 15x8 and fitting 205 /55 R15 tyres after do lots of research. I just wondered if anyone with more experience than myself could second this suggested size as a good option for a totally standard car
Any help and advice is most helpful and much appreciated
Cheers Carl

Hi Carl,

There's a European company that have just started doing reproduction fuel tanks. I haven't seen any user reviews but they certainly look nice.

The Rota RKR is a 'fake' wheel, inspired by the Watanabe RS R-Type. There's also the Japan Racing JR19's and Atara Racing Pitangs that are all very similar in design.

15" would look nice witht hose tyres. 8" width isn't too crazy. What's important is to get the correct offset to ensure the wheels sit at the appropriate width - e.g. so they're not poked in or out too much. ET0 is pretty good on a 15" wheel.

15x8 ET0 225/50 works well.
