Z wanted

Ideally what I am looking for:

1. 260Z (I like short length <3 )
2. 280Z(X) (I prefer the ZX over the Z as it is a cruiser ideal for long drives)
3. 240z (they are the most $$)

Ideally LHD.

What they must not have: color either red/orange/yellow (interior/exterior) or brown (exterior only) . I despise these colors.

I do not mind to make repairs on it etc. As long as it is not a rust bucket :D and that I can use it for example to drive safely it is an excellent start.

I have a lot in mind to add to them, i.e: power steering, cruise control -which i need, cassette player, to name a few, and more over time to restore it, just need a good body to start.

P.S: I am always looking online, but buying for example from the U.S. I have no idea how to do it safely. I would need to travel there and there is no time for that. If you find anyhting good let me know.

So what you really want is a 260Z 2 seater, LHD, minor rust, power steering, cruise control and not be red, orange, brown, yellow.

If I hear of one I'll let you know.

So we don't waste anybody's time what is your price limit?

If you want to import from the US and are unsure as to the procedure or don't feel comfortable doing it, ask Mike (Saccyclone on here) to help you find a car if he can. He's based in north California and is very experienced in all things Z - and many people one here have bought cars from him and imported them.

But, even more important than the cassette player (which is important let's not forget), is the budget. Your plan succeeds or fails on the figure you have in mind.

Thank you for the replies :D The PS, Cassette P, CC, are extras that will be put later on (I am not asking them necessarily at the very beginning, to be clear. The initial part is to get one that is safe to drive. I hope noone is making fun of me here :D :D :D

The budget is 18K (but at that level it shouldn't need much work: Drives + MOT pass-maybe some advs)

Edit: I.E. as I have seen it is common: I want to start with an ok body around 10K (or less not sure how the prices are just guessing from some ebays i saw) that drives, and then fix it up so that it is safe to drive (I consider this by passing an MOT, i do not care if it is exempt, i am sure insurance would like it to pass an MOT as well). Then little by little build it to a sexy Z. I can do it all at once, but for the sake of uncertainty i would prefer it steadily and slowly, I want to experience the process of me putting nicer and nicer things in it :D

A 280Z two-seater would probably be easier to source than a 260Z.
If you want a cheap (10k) car with a good body, I wouldn't get too hung up on colour as it will probably need a respray (as will a lot of cars in your 18k budget).
Also, the colours you don't like are pretty popular at the minute and may narrow your choice.
As others have mentioned, a car from the US is most likely your best bet.
A dry state car may have interior issues such as cracked dash, split seat covers and faded carpets but these are relatively easy and cheap to address in comparison to rotten body work.

I get what you mean about the color. I mean...ideally. The brown and red interior are the big no nos. If the panels are brown or red yikes I can't... The biggest thing is that I do not want to have a rust bucket :p

.... I hope noone is making fun of me here :D :D :D....

Of course not EXTRA;)

My comments were trying to get you to understand that you are extremely unlikely to get your preferred car. 260Z were rare in the US.

Why do you want LHD is it a preference or just reality re price and condition?

I want LHD because I am planning to be driving it quite a bit in EU/Greece.

Particularly, since at some point I will move permenently there :D I will need it to cruise around the amazing country/sea-side, thus the LHD.

Scrap that! I remember this one from your other thread. I advised, along with others, to leave that one alone. That still stands.

:D Indeed, he did send me a video of the engine running. But still i believe it is too much...

I found this: https://www.theparking-cars.co.uk/u...-02-1981-aangeboden-door-n-hoog/EELN8WAB.html and the guy sent some nice videos/pics of the engine running. BUT it is in another country and I can't see it in person.

it also has the... :ack: brown interior

The 1975 280z will be for sale as Robbie said.

The problem is that many of the parts I need to purchase are back ordered or not shipping at all from MSA.....having to do with Covid and other things.

Finally got the small bumpers added, front air dam arrived a few days ago. Rear hatch spoilers are back ordered except for the higher end ones at $200 plus shipping. I will use one that I have on another car and re-order for that one later.

Carpet kit needs to be ordered still and a full detail.

Price will be over your budget but under $20K for a very solid almost no rust running driving 280Z.

Of course there is the Orange color that may be a deal breaker for you.

A 280ZX will be much less money but finding a green, blue, or silver will be a little difficult.

I will keep an eye out for a green, blue, or silver Zed.

Mike
