driveshafts finished and installed. Rear wheel speed sensors and brakes installed. New brake lines run through the car. Not a bad couple of days works

Yes, good work Ben. Please explain the speed sensor requirement (diff?)

Not many have vented rears - you only run the car for a few minutes at a time ha ha.

Hi Rob, the vented rear discs and 4 pot calipers are what was used on the circuits back in the janspeed days. The rear disc conversion was done originally by Rob Janssen when he made a race car out of one of the rally cars he had. I can't find any suitable solid discs so stich with vented.
Running carbon metallic pads mean they generate some heat which means it does stop quickly.

Wheel speed sensors are for the data logging ( and traction/launch control if I ever use it) which is in the DTA ecu I run. I usually log a front wheel and a rear wheel which then shows me speed and wheel spin along with revs and throttle position. Looking at the data afterwards is useful to confirm what I think is happening.
For example, I was convinced that I was using full throttle when accelerating off the startline and up through the gears but after looking at the log data it showed that I was only using about 75% throttle until I got into top gear.
The ecu logs RPM, oil and water temp, oil pressure, crank sensor, running time along with some other stuff.
Logging the oil pressure is useful as it will show any drop in pressure due to G forces in long corner that may be missed at the time

It will also give the girls the chance to look at each others runs to see how they drive differently and then possibly make changes to the way each drive

I've been playing with my new (to me) car lift.
It took me a while to work out how I can lift it at my preferred points (compression rod mount and the beam that the ARB mounts on) but now I'm sorted.

What sort of bush or bearing do you run at the outer end of your rear lower arms Ben?

Are you using the OEM outer spindle pin too?

Standard spindle pins on phosphor bronze bushings in the tube bespoke wishbones

I've contemplated doing something to the outer ends of my rear control arms for a while, going as far as down loading a free version of Fusion 360 to draw up some weld in spherical bearing cups to do away with the poly bushes I currently have

I can't believe it. I've been chasing a clunk which is audible when upshifting from 1st to second for almost 1 year. I replaced the prop shaft, diff, new cv axles, diff mount, trans mount - nothing really improved it overall.

All four spindle bolt nuts weren't tight enough! I just went for a night drive and there's zero clunk anymore!

Funny how small these cars can look sometimes, it looks totally out of scale to the fuel pump in that shot! :D

Anyone else think the whole "use of phones prohibited" at the pumps is dumb?

I was always told that an electronic spark could ignite petrol fumes. So, naturally I was sweating looking at the photo of your car at the pumps.

I'm probably paranoid.

Do they even have those notices any more? ooh look at those sparks from my phone, said no one ever :)
