US '74 260Z front chin / valance, is this the right part?

Hi all,

I went to fit a replacement front valance I was given and it doesn't seem to fit well / at all.

Can anyone tell what car this would fit if it's not a '74 260z? My best guess is it's for a 240Z and because of the other front bumper changes on the 260z the front valance fixing points are slightly different. Any knowledge on the matter would be brilliant!

The 240z and early 260z are the same as far as I know, I have a 240 front valance on my 260. The later 260 is much deeper and is not an interchangeable part. It looks like the valance you have is a bit bent, hence why it's not lining up.

Replacement from where? Is it genuine? If its a part from APS I can tell you now that one I was given one from there to fit to a friends car didn't fit at ALL. I had to cut it and modify to fit on his early 240Z and even then it was still garbage.

Thanks for the replies everyone.

There was a miss-hap when my car was getting work done so I was given it as a replacement to my existing one.

If it looks like a legit 240 one then I'll try make it fit. Just expected it to line up a bit easier so wanted to check.

I'll keep an eye out if someone thinks it's 3rd party and report back if I get it fitted.

I have a 260Z metal front valence and corners that I have just taken off my 2/2. It has the slots for the corner turn signal lights. A bit battered but can be easily straightened and there is no rust. If you are interested PM me and I can take some pics and we can talk price. Might be a bit awkward posting it though.

My '74 US 260z was going to have a 3 piece metal valence until i tried to fit it. I found exactly as you have. They just don't fit. I put a 1 piece fiberglass one on instead.

Hi mate,

Interesting. I can't picture it but I'm interested. Can you add a photo of the same thing?

Her are some pics as requested. The second one is upside down as that was the only way I could stand it up.

Thanks for the pics. Looking at the fixings on the pics it looks the same as the bit I've got.

I'm going to have another go at fitting what I've got but if you've got a price or ball park mind feel free to PM me.
