Hey Liam - is the 280 you are looking at a US import? (dry state) I've no doubt someone on the forum might go check it out for you.

I'm not sure where the 280z came from originally. I can always ask him. Someone may know him on here. He seems to have quite a few Z's and he sent me an example of a dated letter from here so he's definitely on here.

So, a small but very large update (for me anyway)

I was in talks with the guy selling the 280z mentioned previously and had arranged someone to go and view it for me (big responsibility given what my shell turned out to be like in the first place) but the government had other ideas and put the country into lockdown! Now with that, obviously the car wasn't able to be viewed. The seller understood and it was to be arranged post crazy lockdown rules. Unfortunately, me posting on a discussion thread about the 260z that's on ebay (the flood damaged one) gave someone the idea that I had bought another shell... (don't ask me how, but yeah ok...) and whoever it was on here decided to message the guy selling the shell to tell him I have bought another car. He said he has now decided to keep it because he was under the impression that I'd bought another car and not told him... therefore it is no longer for sale. So thanks for that whoever it was. Very kind of you.

Now with that I was p****d off and threw my toys out the pram. Was considering giving up and selling all my bits and cutting my losses. Someone has managed to talk me out of it and told me not to give up. So I have been in some talks... and the project continues... I'm not going to say much more but a chat with someone made me a very happy man and I can finally see light at the end of the tunnel. Only time will tell!

Well, that's dispicable behaviour. Although the forum can be viewed by anyone, there is a chance it wasn't a member here. But still, that is shameful.

I hope this chat with someone means you have a shell lined up - I understand if you want to keep details off of here. I look forward to the continued project of yours.

He told me that someone had sent him the link to the post and that I'd found a new shell. ‍♂️

I can't give too much away at the moment. But I have something lined up.. hopefully!

They are gorgeous Liam. Have thought about doing something similar one day. How much were they? Do they bolt straight on?

As for the "bolt in" question, I asked them what frames fit and they said that a Cobra frame would fit. I have however found a set of Bride rails that are bolt in and fit the seats

Once you break the back of it, you'll find it can come together very quickly. I'll never forget that feeling of getting it back from the paint shop and being able to commence the rebuild...fun times ahead.
