That looks fantastic, i see you are in north London, once this is all over it would be nice to have a meet up. Im thinking of following the 432 theme on the whole of the car with a modernised twist so some little details for those who know would be great. Are those real 432 magnesium wheels? very nice
Thanks. In fact they are original Nissan works 'Rally Mag' wheels, made for Nissan by Kobe Seiko. They are 7j x 14", so are wider than the OEM 432 wheels (also made for Nissan by Kobe Seiko) which were 5.5j and had solid 'spokes' whilst the 'Rally Mags' had vented 'spokes'. They are similar, but different.
Im hoping to get back over to Japan this year do you know of any good z shops around the tokyo area that would be able to help with JDM specific parts? My wifes family live in western Tokyo so i get to spend a bit of time there.
Mrs Albrecht hails from the snowy north, in Hokkaido. We both work for companies based in Tokyo, so often spend time both in Sapporo and Tokyo.
I recommend Revive Jalopy in Saitama for many of the Japanese market-specific early parts you might need. Owner Nishi san publishes a printed newsletter/stock list which you will probably need to request a copy of. One of his sons works with him and does some blogging, but - much like an iceberg - most of what they have is not immediately visible. One of those 'you have to go there' type operations. I recommend using Japanese in any communications, as they apparently get an awful lot of enquiries in English that they find hard to deal with...
Early Z-specific parts in Japan can be hard to hunt down, but companies like M-Speed further west have some good stuff. There's no single one-stop 'destination' shop in my experience, and it is probably better to seek out what you need on a case-by-case basis.
You're more than welcome to see my cars when the weather gets a bit better, the days are a little longer and the lockdowns are - hopefully! - a thing of the past.
