Lots of details about this restored 240Z that I dislike...

I'm on about the car, this model isn't claiming to be anything 'special' its honest about what it is, the pictures are honest, the seller seems honest, all of which are harder to find than not.

Are there THAT many dishonest adverts then ?:(

So, iyo, it's priced +/- correctly for what it is ?:)

What's a running LHD 240z worth these days if it doesn't need paint or welding? Obviously more on the continent, but here - £20k? 25?

as a good, ‘off the boat’? If so about that. Same as a uk car that’s in the same overall condition? Ie needing some love and paint correction.

compared to what lhd’s are selling for in Europe? I’d say this and a rhd are about the same value in the same condition?

More importantly what are RHD selling for in Europe?

I agree with Mr Tenno.

If I was looking for a rust-free keeper to experience Z ownership I'd buy a US car (after careful scrutiny). I would keep it LHD and enjoy it without the aggro of converting it.

If I was looking to buy a Z as an investment for sale in the UK I'd want a RHD car or convert one (but the parts would need to be sourced before buying).

I've no idea what a RHD sells for in europe Rob. Just a string of Average to upper average LHD cars, listed at what I thought were high prices, being sold within a month. So If I was 'investing', it'd be a genuine Japanese Market car or a early LHD.

what do you think?

no idea on price, I’d say it’s expensive for what it is

I don't know and why I asked you who made the statement - what facts have you to back up what you wrote below ?

Yes, I agree that it's probably on the expensive side for lack of obvious attention and a partial restoration should at least present a complete car without parts missing whatever the price. Honest....perhaps butlacking in detail in the description too - a kind of take it or leave it sale where the seller is sure some spring-bunny will come along and snap it up anyhows !

What makes a RHD car worth more as an investment in the total European market compared to a LHD version ? Bear in mind the costs involved in converting RH to LH including a perfect dash.

I'm seeing 240Z values here above €70k whatever their year - cars are being judged upon spec and condition.....nothing else.

Nice but if I think of the running costs, I’d rather have a Cerbera if it’s fun we’re after. Anyone else other than me think that Astons like this are a bit naff!?

I saw one race last month at Le Mans.......it was last !

Yep, I wouldn't buy that Aston - if I have to have a pose-wagon, I'd buy a Jaguar XKR at around £8k and import another S30 with the change. Lovin' my 280Z !

I've no idea what you're asking me. So my final answer is potato.

I'm not going to list all the dishonest adverts here, its not fair on the club for me to give them the hassle that it would cause.

There's adverts all over the place, you can find them without too much hassle, we discuss some of them on here, quite often in a respectful way without causing the
club hassle.

I didn't ask for all, just one will do to back up your theory - I don't want the club to be in any hassle either although how that 's likely to occur freely discussing a public advert beats me : is their no freedom of speech left allowed on that island now ?

I (and I assume you too) was only considering adverts for Zs.
