Ariel Motorcycle Found

So today I was out looking at a 73 240Z in a garage at a borders house and came across this basket case Ariel Square Four Motorcycle. I have no idea or knowledge about Ariels but I ended up buying it and taking it home hoping to save it from the scrapper or tin worm.

Anyone here know anything about these bikes??? A few pics of what I have.

I think I have the correct fuel tank and fenders but not sure.

Thanks, Mike

Update, thanks to the knowledgeable chaps on the Ariel FB Group, I was able to determine that this is a 1952 Square Four Ariel and that the engine number and frame number have matching serial numbers.

Mike there are some in this sale for your interest and detail.

Mike your pictures slow my PC down to a grind. Same with your red truck pics.

Also are you becoming the Wayne Carini of the West Coast?
Sorry Rob, maybe the time difference between us that your computer takes issue with....LOL

As for the Carini effect, no. I just knew that I could not walk away and leave this bike sitting in the weeds and open to the elements. Someone will love this thing back on the road again.

After much back and forth with the Ariel Facebook group we determined that the larger fuel tank is correct for this bike and both the front and rear fenders are present in the pics....so thats a good sign.

The engine turns over by hand so was happy with that.

I also have a set of new S&S Superstock heads for a 66-84 HD Shovelhead that came in the package deal if anyone knows of a HD fanatic. I know I can probably off load them here in the states faster but just thought I would throw it out there.

Hi Mike, it's only your pictures that upset my PC so perhaps you are right about the time delay

I've just scanned through Ian's pictures of his resto. no problem.
