I'm thinking of putting another needle roller behind the middle sprockets now, just to be safe , so the head needs a bit more machining,

I'm just happy that I managed to sort the timing and all goes round and doesn't hit a piston for this week

Intake manifold is taking shape now, The flanges are just tacked on for now & will need some die grind blending work as the hole centres are out by about 4-5mm ,

Im really interested in this as i have a spare virgin rb26 head sat in my garage from my last RB i built and i could happily put this into use on the 240 im restoring

This week I managed to vapour blast a spare set of type 18's and mount then up , will give me an idea of how much room I need and have for trumpets to
will have to blast the manifold to now, as it looks crap compared to the Weber's

What a difference it makes to the carbs - when you vapour blast do you cover all the holes up?

I completely strip them down, blast all the bits, blow them all out and stick them in an ultrasonic bath to get any media left and get all the small galleries clean

i'm bidding on a vapour blaster at a machinery auction. seems like a useful thing to have.

Got it mounted today and checked some measurements, gonna blast it this week hopefully, and order some tube up to start the exhuast manifold mock up

Where I machined the head I broke through to the cross piece where the cams sit , gonna plate this off and make a feed for the middle sprockets so the oil will drip through it on to them , if not a take off from the head feed pipes that are gonna come off a T-piece from the oil pressure switch,

cover wise, the short answer is make one lol ,

long answer machine one out of billet/fabricate one with a nice front cover that mimics the RB one but with RB-L on it instead, sorta like the one in Japan , so the oil sprayed of the cam chains will run back down into the front of the case like a L-gata,
