Where to get interior plastics

FRP Automotive make them nowadays I believe? Seem to recall seeing some on their FB page. Should be less of a financial enema than buying from MSA...

Do you need every bit and do they have to be new? Are you looking for the original finish or will you be modding them in any way?

is that the only place?

Just added up, $834+post, Say $1000 all in, so £1040 ish delivered. I feel a bit sick.

It’s the only place I know to get it.

I replaced my rear quarter plastic some years ago and Mike got it through some other company. I looked for them recently but they didn’t seem to exist anymore, can’t remember the name either.

Sorry,

Mike

Got mine from Zcardepot - haven't actually taken them out of the packaging though as being able to refit them is a pipe dream at the moment! :(

zcarsource.com?

Bear in mind for that an early solid quarter/vented tailgate car you will need the matching non-vented inner quarter trim panels, not the later vented type.

Good thing about newly made stuff is that it is more pliable and less brittle than the UV and Oxygen-hardened originals...

thats a good saving over MSA straight off.

I know the hatch trim wasn't the same. i'm struggling to find the inner quarter panels pics to see the difference.

Have you still got anything left of your originals?

I'm sure I've got photo references around here somewhere, but its simply a matter of no matrix of holes in the upper part of the quarter panel trims vs a matrix of holes in the same panel to line up with the (later) vented quarters. Both have speaker holes, but they are lower down in the rear corners.

In fact I seem to remember from years ago that at least one aftermarket supplier was making the non-vented type as a default, and if you had vented quarters you needed to get your drill out...

thanks, never knew that.

I think I’ve got bits somewhere. They basically disintegrated when I removed them. As you said, age and Arizona sun.

Mine are originals one and they are delicate as *&^%. The slightest pressure in the wrong place and they crack. There were a couple that had broken segments when I removed them and I had to mend the cracks with glassfibre on the reverse side for strength.

Dixie’s complete set of interior trim panels crumbled to small fragments on removal. 30 years of standing out getting sun baked in inland California.
