Still a slow progress of acquiring bits and bobs for the 510 project, but I had a delivery from Japan today.
These are just such a lovely feeling wheel, I had one on my old car and just had to get another.
Nismo Compe 10th anniversary wheel.

It's been quite a while since I posted in this thread, but I'm after some opinions really.

The 510 is currently undergoing a full restoration and has recently come back from a chemical dipping. So whilst we sort out some of the issues with the metal work I am starting to think about the details under the bonnet.

I'm not sure what colour to paint the block, I had thought of going same colour as the body which will be Safari Gold, but I'm starting to think that I'd be better off with a contrast. Rocker cover, Carbs, manifold, etc are all polished and front cover, head, gearbox are vapour blasted, but I'm in a proper quandary with the block itself..?

Anybody got any decent suggestions, thanks.

How come you ended up dipping it? from the pics before it looked lovely.

I wouldn't polish anything. ever :) what about a nice drab olive for the block?
Looks can be decieving, there was a lot of filler hiding some not so nice metal. Don't get me wrong it wasn't horrendous, but it will be lovely when it's finished now. And I'm the opposite, I love polished metal work.

Olive is not a bad suggestion....might work as a good contrast to the exterior...?

I think so, while being the same sort of 'dull' colour that safari gold is(my favourite colour).
