Most of the engine bay is in nice condition, but underneath the battery box needs a little attention so it had to come out to gain access. I couldn't get a normal drill in, so used a chuck extender to get the spot weld drill bit started, followed by a home made spot weld drill adapter on a flexi wand.
The underside of the battery tray itself can also now get blasted.

Didn't really do any work on the car over the lovely Easter weekend, as all my neighbors were sat out in their gardens and I didn't want to pee them off. Plus I quite enjoyed sitting out and having a few beers myself!. However, now its got a bit cooler I got on and finished the top and sides of the passenger side air tubes:

Also, yesterday was my 60th birthday - so I'm now officially an old bugger 
My beautiful wife bought me a grown up meccano kit (although she doesn't actually know it yet
)
And my youngest has ordered me a new set of Triple Webers inc. manifold - so it looks like I might be modifying it a little more than I originally planned
)

I believe they are 40's, but that's all I know at the moment! Won't be needing them for a while though!

Yup - I don't feel any different to when I was 30 odd! A few Lbs heavier but not too bad

We did that for my Dad for his 78th. He last flew one aged 15 in 1947, 63 years earlier. The pilot let him take control once they were up and even treated him to a loop the loop before coming in to land. The old man loved it, tears of joy streaming!Thanks! Am looking forward to it! My Dad was a CFI for a gliding club in the 60's and early 70's and used to fly the Tiger Moth as the glider tug. Although he took me gliding a number of times I never got to fly in the Tiger Moth as I was too little :-(

My new Ade Foreman Rotisserie arrived a few days ago, so have been researching on how to best mount the car on it. Unlike Jon (Tyroguru), I don't have the bumper mounts on the chassis legs so have gone with bolting some heavy duty angle iron underneath the legs. It's bolted into 6 locations - 2 x engine/steering rack frame; 2 x anti-roll bar mounts and 2 x tie-down clamp.
Will this be safe/strong enough please? Any comments/criticism welcome!

Looking at the thickness of that steel Phil, that is going to be more than enough to hold the car I am sure. They're not that heavy when all said and done and without the bonnet, doors and hatch even less so. Plus, the Datsun steel is so thin compared to a Mustang like I had, which was a bigger and heavier car and I think my pieces were about the same as yours or slightly less. The pieces you are bolted to are all sound corrosion-wise so I don't think you'll have any trouble ...
