Wheel bearing grease

While the madness of C19 continues I plan to finally replace my rear wheel bearings.

Popped into the local garage to ask what they recommend and they said they use LM2 Multipurpose on all customer cars ...

However, reading up, it appears that EP2 is the way forward.

With a higher melting point, EP2 seems more suitable to a lightly tracked car.

This is a great simple to digest article

So the question is, what have you used in the past or would recommend?

I put LM2 grease in my grease gun at the end of last year.

When the sun comes in through the workshop window and hits grease gun I can see it dripping.

So I think you're right, go for the EP2. What's to lose?

Thanks fellas. Looks like EP2 it is. Although this home schooling lark takes up pretty much the entire day so no progress will be made anytime soon!

Fortunately the missus is bearing the brunt of that forced career choice! Im out on my lonesome, soaking up the sun and keeping every ones gardens looking nice.

One of my clients i go to fortnightly is in the middle of a full on house extension, they're not living there at the moment, but the builders were on site today, laughing and joking and huddled together smoking! Needless to say i didn't start the job and when i rang the client to explain, she was obviously very understanding and said she will be paying me for the foreseeable wether i manage to get there or not!

Andy (Toopy) shame you don't live closer I hate gardening.

Same situation across the road from me 5 months so far having the house extended and work still going on. They are living elsewhere.

My poor neighbour with a toddler and new born are in the middle of an extension trying to get the roof on before the rains come again. The builder has had to down tools but wants full payment each week as if he is working. Tough times!

Ali, you could fix their roof with all the supplies you bought the other day. Take care though.

Always good to keep the neighbours happy when you have a loud Datsun.

Funny you say that, when I was doing the timing yesterday, I was a little conscious of how quiet the world was and how loud the Datsun was in comparison. But then they have a Cock that sings at the crack of dawn everyday so I stoped feeling guilty quickly.
