Thanks Steve, just seen this too.

It's going to be a quiet year for 'meets' and auctions etc.

However cars should be A1 by the end of it - as long as folks have the money to spend on them and keep them.

Given stockmarket drops and the lack of 'free cash' we should see some sort of price correction on cars. I'd be surprised from what I know if anything really is allowed to happen before Sept. Given what we should do, its should be 2021.

Will be interesting to see what happens to Classic Car values...........

I expect modern car values will take a significant drop, but classic cars???

Stock markets are plummeting as investors take their money out and invest in safer options. When this has happened in the past, classic cars and motorcycle prices soared upwards - we'll see!

I'm not sure classic cars will count as safe investments, certainly not within the more realistic part of the market rather than the daft top end. I think the market will stall utterly this spring, which is normally a key time for buying and selling ahead of enjoying the cars in summer. Instead, everyone is off the road, people are not going to be going looking at cars, show season is basically gone, and financial uncertainties will cause an abundance of caution in spending on non-essential items. Prices will freeze, or drop, especially if people find themselves needing to sell due to financial hardship, etc.

I disagree, I've already seen WBAC halving values of modern used cars about a week prior to the lockdown, however that is only because they didn't want to take on board more stock that they would have no auction outlet for.

Glasses and CAP however are holding prices currently and I suspect that will be the case until we resume some sort of normal trading position.

I noticed that also, I was flirting with taking an an all electric car from work so looked to sell mine to motorway, went back this week and only the 'premium' buyer was in the same ball park(circa £1k less), all the others were £3-5k less.

I think we'll(hopefully) see a bit of a shift from people buying new cars all the time and extending their finances to a model where people make things like having some savings more important. Given the stock markets, they'll be less cash around the wealthy that they're willing to spend so willingly so classic prices will come down(i'd put £5 on it!)

Have you received any notification about rescheduling or ticket refunds Rob? I’ve not seen anything at all....

Yes Huw, soon after postponement. You should have an email from them.

If they reschedule, your ticket will 'stand'. If you can't make it they'll refund.

Event tickets/season passes
All motor racing until at least 31 May (30 June for car events) has been suspended and those affected events have been postponed. All tickets will be valid for the rescheduled event. If you let us know that you can't make the rescheduled date once it's been announced, or if a race meeting is not rescheduled at all, you will be entitled to a credit or a refund. We will review the effect on season pass holders throughout the season and ensure that any significant loss of entitlement is managed fairly.

TBH, I think the pandemic is doing us a favour here - the May bank holiday weather is totally unpredictable and we’ve had some right shockers at the Historic (as well as a few very nice days). If it gets rescheduled for late summer or autumn, it might be better. Although I still think all mass events will be off until 2021.

Yep, I've stood in torrential rain watching the racing or rally stage. We even had snow about 4 years ago and beautiful sunshine like today.

It's cold and pouring-down here at the moment - I'm 25mins from Donington.
Un-typically it’s really lovely here today.

Although, like Rich said, I can’t see it being held this year at all. I think it will be next Spring at the earliest before we see any big events taking place...

I agree. Even if we were given total freedom in July it would take enormous effort to clear the backlog of racing fixtures and get everything organised.

Am sure going to miss the annual gathering Tonight at the Crossroads Motel with a fantastic group of people Think there was 18 people there Last year All eating Drinking and having a laugh
For me It had turned into the best event in the Z Clubs Year it was a shame we only got 49 cars out on the track instead of the magic 50
Still when The events start again maybe we will realise that although the internet etc is a great thing there is nothing like an actual Meeting to really enjoy each others company
Hope to see you all in the not to distant future
