I was surprised at this a first Terry , but then I see your s54 Motor ways in at 149kg's. As far as I remember a typical Lseries is about 117kg.
Plus the heavier gearbox and of course your supercharger. Oh and I nearly forgot your hydraulic power steering rack and cage.
Are you having second thoughts on going back to steel doors now?
You could always fit these and keep your fibre glass doors?

i'm pretty sure the engine and box come in at 270kg ish, i've got the weights somewhere. a 6 speed box is 27kg IIRC. add the big brakes/discs all round etc etc.

I have never really looked at weight reduction on my blue car, only front to rear distribution. I recall mine being 604kg front and back with half tank of fuel (30kg). That’s with spare wheel, tools and spares, 2 sets of full carpets plus lots of dynomat, full interior (fiberglass dash), full cage and all steel panels. Car was built with no weight reduction in mind. All in weight with me in it would be over 1300kg.

That does sound pretty high Terry. Are you sure your 2 boys weren't standing on the ramp for a laugh.

Heavier engine and box plus supercharger
Other things which either are or may be heavier:

Wider wheels and tyres
Much bigger exhaust system
Cage
Fuel pumps
ECU and wiring
Axle setup
Supercharger
oil cooler?
Probably bigger coolant and oil capacity.

I won't say brakes because in my case the brake setup it didn't really add any weight as the stock setups are already heavy.

That lot there will account for a lot of weight, I personally would be happy if thats what the final weight of mine was.
