Huw, is there any way you can improve the garage? If I couldn't go in mine over the whole winter, I'd try to change things, if I could.
Now the 944 is fixed, I'll be back on the Z - wither getting my aS* in gear and doing some work on it - finishing the interior, putting the carbs back on etc - or I might be just putting more stuff on the top of it, watching the dust accumulate and doing something else. The former I hope.
It needs a new roof. The garage is a single cinder block, corrugated cement roof affair. It shares the roof with next door as it’s a joint block. I’ve been waiting them to pitch in to share the cost of doing both. Could really do with knocking down and rebuilding to be honest.
Beware asbestos.
My garage plan next year is to buy a 20' container, hook it up with electricity, fit a ventilation system, lights etc and store the Z within inside a carcoon. All in should be about £3.5k.
Bet the neighbours will be impressed with that
In the garages they are going I only had 2.2m useable width due to oak beam height restrictions at barn entrance so had to go for 'airchamber' which is narrower than Carcoon.
I wanted a framed version so can drive in/out easily for occasional runs out on dry days.
I will be ordering a Carcoon as well for another storage area in a couple of weeks and get 15% trade discount on those, so if you are interested in one I can add to the order.
Airflow were tough cookies and I only managed to get a small price reduction and free battery conditioner/chargers thrown in.
Sean, you must need a garage for the £30k’s of steering wheels you’ve got!?
