Me neither, I'm just deciding on a shirt now, polka dot, paisley or horizontal stripey?
May run to a cravat but that's the nearest I'm going to a tie.

Heard some people saying they're going all 'Peaky Blinders'. I've never seen it as don't watch much TV but from the little I know wasn't that set in the 20's? Goodwood didn't start racing until 1948 so how does that work?

60's and 70's were the golden decades, the best cars, music, films, comedy, fashion, girls......... if I was in charge of the world we'd just re-run those two decades over and over on a loop.

According to the Goodwood BS, the spirit & attire of Goodwood only goes up to the mid 60's. So that's my classic Z and my old rocker/hippy jeans & T-shirt stuffed, but that won't be stopping me :smoke:
:iagree: I totally agree, can we just keep on doing a re-run of the 60's & 70's :smoke:  Everything was far better without all this PC BS, sjw's, globalism, the new suckers tax- climate change, & brain dead students wanting to destroy the planet with communism.

I don't remember much of the 60's. What was it like Chris?

Ha, Ha!
I remember just about a year more than you do EXTRA:D

I didn't become an adult until 1980 (no funny comments please) so all my childhood was spent in the 60/70s and I don't want to hear anything negative about three day weeks and unions and strikes n stuff because as a kid power cuts and burning candles for light is exciting plus Suzi Quattro (what were we thinking?) and Marc Bolan were much more interesting than politics.

You will be fine as a rocker, not much change to your normal dress required then :smash:
There will be plenty of flares and hippies around.

All that dressing up is BS - if they want to live in the past then charge £5 to enter and only allow race cars with a Transit van as support!

I can remember go to British GPs that cost £15 on race-day.

You can tell climate change is true, the politicians are denying it.

All sporting events were much cheaper back in the day (even allowing for inflation) and also much more accessible in terms of turning up on the day and no problem getting in. You didn't have to plan years in advance, get a ticket months before the event, there was very little touting. Globalisation and over-commercialisation has been the ruin of most sports....humbug, humbug roll us yer cap Grandad!

I used to pitch up to Old Trafford on Saturdays to watch Tommy Doc's United and pay tuppence ha'penny at the turnstile, not a prawn sandwich or souvenir shop in sight - the only thing you would buy was a program to get the voucher for any potential cup finals.

In July 1977 on my 15th birthday in glorious sunshine I bunked off school and caught the train to Warwick Road, walked under the subway and paid £1.50 on the gate to see the first day of the Ashes Test (explaining my sunburnt face to the form teacher next day was a bit awkward but he was the cricket master, so wink wink and off you go sonny).

You try getting a ticket to either football (although why would you bother at the moment :cuss:) or cricket at Old Trafford these days, you aren't just going to pitch up and pay the man on the gate and that's before we mention the price.

Anyway, yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery.........

It's still like that in Northampton.
£1.50 to watch the cobblers or the sticklebacks in empty grounds.

Think you are almost harking back to the 70's as well with those prices Jon.
£ 18 at the Grecians, Exeter City and that is for standing on the Big Bank, mind you, they are top of the league!

6/10 - harsh Franky, glad you didn't mark my O level papers :D
Her indoors (and I get in trouble for calling her that - damn pc....ness knows no bounds, even poor old Arthur Daley.isms are off limits apparently) has said I swear too much and I'm on probation. Although she doesn't read this forum, you never know who may snitch me up ;)
ps - you're too young to agree!

Sorry to change the subject but I’ll just add that a very kind guy from France, who is marshalling at goodwood has given me a weekend ticket so I’ll be joining the 3 of you for friday and Saturday. Do you have spare car park passes for both days Chris? Do I have to book the camping? I’ll be getting there quite early Friday as I’m picking up the Marshall at Portsmouth 6:00 and bringing him with me.

I have a spare car park pass just for the Saturday - you'll probably find one for Friday on eBay for £4.00 or so.

Camping - we don't have to book.
Not 100% decided on which site yet, but we'll let you know on Thursday.

Your cast offs won't fit me you big fat chuffer and it sounds horrible anyway
Don't think Oxford bags were from the 60's and no idea what a budgie jacket is either....tweet, tweet

I’m going to be staying down there Thursday night too as I need to be in Portsmouth at 6:00. What’s the plan for Thursday then?

We are aiming to be in the South Downs mid-afternoon Thursday. That’s as far as we’ve got. It is about 30 miles/45 mins to Portsmouth from where we may stay.

Will keep you posted on meet up points/times when we firm up the plans.
