I think I'm missing some context Ali - why would I want to go to Pulborough for an MOT?

That's great news, I know Iain was looking to get back into the trade. Will have to get in touch :)

Ah they worked on Woody's car.

Shame they're gone. Wonder what happened to the 1jz 2+2.

Correct, Iain did a huge amount of custom work to my car with amazing attention to detail.

The car has been kept and will be worked on as and when there's time and space. I believe its in Russell's garage right now but he moved house and was busy with kids etc as well as the main workshop space having gone so I believe its just waiting for them both to have more time. They cerrtainly both intend to finish it....

Yep thats mine. Currently looking very sad in my garage while we are searching for a hobby unit we can put a ramp in and crack back on with it.

Passion Engineering was run by my good friend Iain. Unfortunately the business didn't work out for him so he has joined another local garage to work out of.

Iain is an incredible engineer and has done a few special things on various Club members cars who will attest to the value of travelling to Pulborough to get things done.
He has done everything from building WRC engines to being involved in building the McLaren P1.

Here is the thread - https://zclub.net/community/index.php?threads/im-going-1jz.21946/

Will get back on it when I have space and time!

Do we have an idea of their or his hourly charge out rates ?

With the resume` having WRC, McLaren etc, I guess it's not exactly going to be "cheap" ?

Around £60 an hour if I remember rightly. Generally the work that finds its way to him are the more complicated jobs that main dealers or specialists have got stuck with. These normally end up taking a lot of time and he is an absolute perfectionist.

Here is the result of someone bringing in a cheap worn out buggy that wouldn’t go into gear.

Now has a Motorbike engine in it!
