Ali k has the darker blue on his car and it looks really nice. He has just resprayed his engine bay in that colour so he may be able to give you the code & some pics.
My personal preference is the electric blue colour in your first photo but both look good on a S30.
Thanks Paul!
The colour the PO used was a VW colour they used on the Phaeton and at the time was rare but now on just about any car. The code is LD5Q; some have it as P6 or P6P6.
The colour makes the the chromeware really pop out and does work well on the car.
The downside is, it does show up scratches and imperfections more than a lighter colour.
Some photos ...
I think they look lovely in any colour. The pastels do make them look more period / matchbox toy cool! But don’t go orange!!! The orange ones are doing an extra 25MPH in any traffic officer’s eyes!! [emoji1787]
That looks great Mr K.
However, the only answer to a 'what colour' should be Safari Gold.
OK so it has to be Blue to keep a 7-year-old boy happy (that keeps the wife happy spending money on an old car...)
still torn between dark blue or brighter blue, hopefully see a few cars in the flesh this summer might help
we were watching Incredibles 2 on Sunday and I said daddy's new car looked like Mr Incredibles carBlue and silver ? The samuri colour scheme would look good.

Not wishing to be contentious, I’m in the darker blue camp but not too dark. Then again, it depends on other things like wheels, birghtware, stance, bolt on arches etc. It all has to work together. I had a black MR2 with 17” Kahn RSR wheels which looked MEAN - but always thought the light blue Toyota used made the car utterly stunning. So it just depends on what else is on the car.
I think you are right, seeing them in the flesh is the way forward!
Mr Franky’s wheel and orange combo will look anything but common! In fact it will be quite a unique car when he gets it on the road in April 2032!
Soon an orange s30 will be as common as a 555 Blue Subaru.
People always quote this however none of these cars seem to be close to the road, out of 49 cars on the Saturday at Donington, mine was the only orange one. Same story all three Donington's meets since I bought mine.... (Tony's is the only other Orange car that attends)
Spa we had a good turnout of 6 or so orange S30’s.
So are you saying the blues are common as muck!?
