Mirrors

Hey all,

I've been looking at mirror options for a while, even looking at ones for other cars and seeing if they'll fit.

I want door mirrors, but I'm just not convinced by any of them really. I'm not a huge fan of the chrome and don't fancy matching my existing black 280z mirror to the right hand side, not even sure they made them?

The "BRE Datsun 240Z-280Z Mirror Kit" seems top of my list right now but I'm still not 100% keen.

Do I just go for wing mirrors and be done with it?

What options did you folks go for?

I’m still struggling to find some mirrors I like for both the red and silver/grey car. Both cars require a different type of mirror IMO. Sporty and black for the red one and more classic chrome for the silver grey one.

I’ve bought several mirrors but not found any I’m happy with so open to suggestions.

I put these on my old 260z. Very usable but the base is a bit big. My try them again.

You guys have been super helpful, I'm torn between the first set Moggy shared and the latter ones by jonbills.

Thank you!!!

Has anyone got a picture of the vitalonis on a Z? Looked on Google but all the mirrors seem to point upwards a lot?

You can't see an effin thing out of a Vitaloni on the passenger side - photos of my ex-ones later today.

I'm going for chromed ones this time....but still not sure which.:D

..... if it looks good then generally you can see nothing and if it looks bad then visability is usually fanastic!

These cars really don't seem to take to any kind of mirror being bolted on very well imo.

Agreed.....but then, "you must remember the first rule of Italian driving my friend......." !

I have a pair on my 240Z. The driver's side has gone a bit 'limp' - now now!

The passenger side has been 'built up' with double sided tape to get enough of an angle.

I noticed that Big Sam has them fitted.

The ones on my old car UEY 504M worked well!

The mounting area on the door is scalloped inwards whilst the Vitalino bases are flat. How do you stop water ingress under the mirror and down through the screw holes? Does anybody make a gasket to fit which is convex on the bottom and flat on the top? ( the Vitaloni one is flat on both sides)
