Kimbolton Country Fayre is now in it’s 28th year, a charity event for the whole family, organised by volunteers from The Rotary Club of Kimbolton Castle and The Sporting Bears Motor Club.

It is held in the beautiful grounds of Kimbolton Castle in Cambridgeshire, the home of Kimbolton School.

In 2018 we were delighted to host the following to meet wide tastes.

Main Ring events: Savage Skills: Free Stay Mountain Bike Stunt Team, Sealed Knot, Beagles and Heavy Horses.

Stage: Haka, Gavin James Burke – Classical and Musical Theatre Vocalist, Galaxy Big Band and Lindyhop Dancers, Morris Dancers

Children: Millers Ark Mobile Farm, Mobile Cave and Bungee Trampolining.

Other attractions: Around 1000 Classic and Sports Cars, a flypast by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, more than 70 stalls and stands, Dream rides, Model Car racing as well as the usual tea tent, real ale bar plus many more attractions and activities for the whole family.

In total just under £20 000 was raised for a range of Rotary supported charities. Over the years we have supported many charities, often local; including Burns Camp, Samuel Pepys School, HemiHelp, East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices, Ellesmere Opportunity Group, Holly Ward (Hinchinbrooke Hospital), Mission Motor Sports and many other Rotary supported charities and good causes.

The Fayre has raised £400,000 over the last 27 years. Staffed by over 60 volunteers on the day and backed by a year of planning.

The 2019 fayre will be held on Sunday the 14th of July, gates open for general admission at 11.00am. Classic cars for display arrive from 9.00am. (We can usually get in from 7am)

The organisers are really flexible and cars are allowed to leave early, and BBQ's etc are allowed as well as dogs. We welcome any model not just Nissan sportscars - so anything you call your pride and joy!

This is a nissansportz organised event as it was last year, but last year we were able to welcome a few ZClub attendees and it gave a nice mix of classic and modern classic together,

I need to let the organisers know number by the end of April - so please can I ask for show of hands before then. I will add some flexibility of numbers for last minute requests. As with last year I need to obtain wrist bands which I will post out on the day. Entrance is still £10 per car as it was last year.

I will keep the attending list up to date on both forums and keep members up to date with the news on this event to save people crossing platforms/clubs.

Last year was a very hot day - So who's attending this year

There hasn't been much interest this year from either club for this event this year so I have let the organisers know we won't take a club stand this year. I have said if anyone wants to come along we may still have a small group in the individual exhibitor area's so I am finding out about that now and will post details for anyone who might be interested. But I have as of today advised the organisers we will not need a club stand.

Done this years ago when Alan and Gail organised it,good show but we didn’t have to pay to show our cars then, back in the day,30 quid in juice, tenner to get in that’s an expensive day for some, back in the day we didn’t pay to exhibit our cars the organisers just get more greedy as time goes on hence a lot of us don’t bother anymore which is a shame really, they’ll start charging to show at Matching reed soon which is a great little show but no Zed stand anymore,I wonder why ?

That’s why you pay to go in and not to show your car, back in the day it wasn’t like that, us exhibitors gave our time and expenses getting to the shows only for the organisers to get greedy and start to charge the car exhibitors to show their car,They came up with a load of bollox saying it was to pay for better trophies

I have an update. The organisers are not able to get the bands out to me to get them out to those attending, So it has been agreed we can collect ours from the gate when we arrive.

"Just let the gate staff know you wish to park in Area 99 and they will ensure you collect your wristbands on the way in."

Attached is the welcome letter with more info and the map. We will be placed in Area 99. Anyone who can attend it will be great to see you. I will be there very early.

Lesmo,

If another z club member is interested will the be able to just turn up? I mentioned it Zedhead240 and he was interested too, only I forgot about the bands.

Hi Mike, Absolutely, I asked the organisers to allocate 10 to us - we are not at that number, so it won't be a problem.

John and I will probably arrive between 9:45 and 10 just to give you some idea.

Cheers Mike

As we know because we couldn't really get the numbers together this year is a Mini Meet. We are in with the Individual classic cars in area 99 (which I was in three years ago) its this area you need to ask for. Cars can arrive from 7:30am.

Its going to make it a challenge to get us all together but I will try by getting there as early as I can and taking over an area with the pop ups and flag which we can move later. Once in area 99 look for the nissansportz flag. I have been told we can be put together - but the logistics of that are going to be complicated. The prime slots in that area get taken quickly.

Remember to have the £10 for the car and pay at the gate - they only take cash. I will see whoever can make it tomorrow. It will be a nice surprise to see who comes. But unfortunately I cannot guarantee we will all be together. But I will try.

See you tomorrow if you/anyone can make it.

Thanks for coming guys. Yours cars got a lot of attention as you would expect. Not a bad location either right next to the Arena.

It was the best trip I had made in the last 4 years. Although we couldn't get the numbers this year we made up with the quality
