Search engine is tricky I find

This site is very slow and I am finding it very hard to find solutions to problems. It is a problem to find a problem. Who needs that?
Sorry to be dismissive but it is how I feel. For ex' A guy asks the same question as me; is the transmission tunnel the same in an Auto as it is in a manual car. I would guess as yes. But who am I to know.

Changing the subject slightly I am looking to buy a 280zx its the blue one on ebay. Owner says it is a 2 seater which I d prefer. He says it is a rare car. Is it? I need a project now after my Jensen and I am mad about the Zs. I will need it changed to a manual and basically give it a complete nut and bolt restoration.

Where is the best site for parts?

Who are on your technical team here?

Thanks Ladies and Gents

Hi.

Is it this car?

1981 Datsun 280zx auto sports 2 seater R/H/D British (not import) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/264224213484

If so I wouldn’t touch it unless you are a very very good welder and fabricator. Going by the rust you can see, which will be difficult to fix, I would guarantee there will be worse in the inner wings and chassis rails.

If you want one I would consider this one as a more realistic proposal. If you are not a skilled welder:

DATSUN 280ZX TURBO AU0 1982 PROJECT 1982 https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/223460256794

Your choice as you know your skill level, but even I wouldn’t touch the blue one and my 280ZX was pretty rotten.

Failing that there are several members on the forum who import cars from the States, contact them to search you a good example. UK cars unless fully restored will be rotten as hell.

Can you give a bit more detail on the problems you have with the site? Search is slow which makes it hard to ask your question or page load is slow which makes it hard to see the answer or both? Or neither?
TBH lots of people use Google.
Do you know you can do site specific search in Google?
E.g
Site:zclub.net whatever you are after

Thanks so much for the info. I will keep searching . Takes time I know.

No chap I too have struggled with it but I would say it is much better than our old site a couple of years ago.

Jon's suggestion though in all seriousness is brilliant. It's a very useful way of dealing with it.

One thing you learn about owning a Z is patience: in sourcing parts, in finding the parts, learning about them, doing the job right, waiting for a paint job, waiting for a mechanic to do the job hey promised etc.

Also you will find that just about any question / topic you and I can think of has been covered 50 times before, so the Google thing is a great tool and faster route to answers.
