Is that a tuning fork?
Tidy looking motor your putting in, but how does the garden fork help you have in your hand?
Rich that is a bit much but you and I are at different ends of the scale re bling. When you solder that nipple give it some mechanical strength so you are not relying on solder alone. For example splay the strands of the cable before soldering.Been preparing the Harada manifold for the Fairlady Z; given the chrome and polished aluminium theme in that car's engine bay, I couldn't bring myself to just go with a factory casting appearance, especially as the current Cannon manifold has a polishing job on it. Completely unnecessary for any of you function-over-form types, but I like bling. So, cue lots of faff with a dremel and wet and dry paper, etc....
As shown, the cable is connected. I will we soldering a ball end onto it allowing direct connection to the pedal. It will be a non-invasive mod with no drilling or faffing about. I will be getting a thick, stepped washer/finisher machined up that will go over the existing throttle rod hole in the bulkhead, with a threaded hole through it to accept the cable end fitting/adjuster.
Each to their own! It’s no different in look to the existing polished manifold and works cosmetically given the carbs are mirror polished too.
Dixie is booked in for a full four stage treatment at EnviroStrip in Tamworth at the end of March. So, pyrolysis (oven bake), rust removal, protective coating, and 2k bodywork weld-thru primer. Will then be ready for body repairs and modifications. Hopefully this gets the ball rolling towards the car being painted before the end of the summer.
Not asked him yet. I heard a vicious rumour he’d stopped doing classics. Is Stu painting it ?
Brackets are done for the R32 caliper/Disc's , just waiting on some custom stainless brake hoses now to finish it all off and test drive it . Should help on the mountain roads, just need to check the weight compared to the old Toyota set up now
Just an observation and I'm obviously no expert on brakes, but the caliper looks like its too high, as in it should be closer to the hub, so the pads are more central on the disc, no?!
Had a cheeky bid on an auction in Japan expecting to get outbid. Should’ve learnt from last time I did that - Japanese bidders don’t tend to snipe!
Used full set of RS Watanabe R-types incoming soon...
Those 15x9 -15 Rota RKRs may soon be up for sale!
