While that sounds practical, you're not seeing the car, whereas someone like Mike in the US is, and you'd expect to pay a small bit for his time, can't see the problem with that. I presume Wazza saw this car before buying it - Robbie J's mate saw one for him in person and that could have turned out better. It's all a risk to some degree ...
Yeah I feel the same about this, the car I had from Chris is amazing. I looked at this S130 myself and didn't realise it would be this much of a rabbit hole, but it was cheap and that kind of blinded me. These are my first classics, the S130 is my first real project.
Chris reminded me at the weekend that you bought that nice 280Z off him - I'd forgotten about that! Hope you're planning to bring it out and about this year. We are going to try and re-institute a regular Cheshire Plainz meetup, so hopefully you can pop over?
I love the 280Z, passionately. To the point I am seriously reconsidering converting it. I think it is something I will do eventually but only when the car is already in a position to have it done (have the engine out for any reason etc).
Cheshire is a bit out of my way but I'd still love to try and come, will be April onwards pretty much for me as it's Snowboarding season for me
In S130 news, our welder & fabricator is brilliant. I think we dropped on, he spends half his year in France welding boats and half his time here - it was completely by chance we met him as he purchased a gearbox from us and I noticed welding gear in the back of his van.
He came a day early to start cutting the car to bits, he's super confident and I have a lot of faith in him. Nice honest bloke that talks you through what he's doing and how he's attacking bits.
