I suppose putting a 370z gearbox in the boot is a no-no

Load it up with any parts you know you need or want before it leaves the country, you can escape customs and vat on them which will otherwise cost you a fortune.

If you've got a gearbox you want to come over just secure it inside the car

Your US shipping agent should have an experienced and knowledgeable UK partner agent who can assist with the C384 form. Kingstown are often nominated and very good at their job.

the container should be on this ship on the Panama Canal but knowing my luck it will fall off in the Atlantic

it's in the UK but.... they are taking it to Milton Keynes to unload. Great the ship docked at Southampton were my mechanic lives....

So this was in a container and they're taking the container off the ship at Southampton and then taking it to MK to unload it ... so you can't pick it up from the docks?

What a shame ... they must be able to sort something, surely? Otherwise, you're going to have to then pay to get it take back to where it was! I suppose that's the downside of containerisation against RoRo (which I would have done I think - it's hardly as though you'd be worried about the paint getting damaged).

Just sounds a right round-the-houses-job! £££££ for you, unfortunately, unless it's a to-the-door price you've agreed. I think it cost me £180 or something to get my 240z brought to Peterborough from Felixstowe.

more rust than the pictures...needs floors, doglegs, rear quarters. bodyfiller on tops of the rear wings and some rust near the roof hinges

That's a downer mate. I hope you're not too disappointed.
I am, do I break it and get another or fix it.... some bits are fine, no rust under the wiper valance, inner sills mainly OK. The front wings and doors OK etc
