Aftermarket Heater

Hi all,

Recently found out the previous owner gutted my Z's heater system.

The car came from Arkansas so I guess he had no need for heating.

I was thinking to source all the bits I'd need for an 'original' system but then stumbled across this:

https://www.t7design.co.uk/products/5kw-midi-heater-with-side-outlets-12v.html

I figure I'd be able to re-route the heater hoses through it, hook up the open/close cable to the heater system and wire it into the stock controls without much issue.

Has anyone used anything similar?

Does anyone have any advice on going about this job?

Any advice is much appreciated!

Cheers

Interesting.

Two comments to consider:

Air inlet - I am assuming this is like a re-circulation system. So you would have to duct cold air to it.

I find the cold-air feed from a stock 'heater' to be as useful as the hot air feed. Your ducting/flaps will require some careful thought and fabrication.

I used the T7 Desisn a/c and heater blower unit but retained the original box to distribute the air.

I don't suppose you have any pictures of your setup available do you?

Do you use the stock heater valve or the one on the t7 unit?

That looks quite nice.

Hi Alex,

I don't know if it will be of any help but I have a UK one hanging around somewhere in the garage?
