Strip it, clean it, paint it in primer and store. Continue amassing parts and see where it takes you.

Save the hassle and expense. I was going to do the same, however given how good the shell was it seemed wrong. looks like you could be in the same boat

My gut is telling me, keep it LHD, L28 on triples or TBI. Modernise the interior and make it a more comfortable and quieter GT style car.

Dan, you know I felt that way about your last car - keep it as it was built. I thought that based on my feelings about my 'original' car and my blue car which has had a RHD conversion.
However I was getting the feeling that you are disappointed by the lack of buyers for your LHD car and that if it was RHD it would have sold.
Have you even got RHD parts anyway?
What about my suggestion to 'store and collect' until you can decide?

Hi Rob,
Like the last one, I’m not really building it to sell. The only reason for contemplating selling the other was because I can have another that should be even better than the last. I’d keep everything if I had the space to store it, fortunate at the moment but it’s not always going to be like that.
I have no RHD parts other than column switch gear... however I have got the option of collecting ‘those’ parts.
It just seems to be a lot of trouble to go to, for something that I’m not going to benefit from. And the car will never be original again... even the cars that have been done ‘properly’ are easy to spot a conversion. I think I’d rather find a nice RHD shell to restore than butcher a LHD car - aus/jap/US import RHD shell, I know they fetch a premium but that would be repaid in its value I’m sure.

I'd keep it LHD. That's the way my rat look car is staying due to it's originality body wise. I could never bring myself to convert it. I was fine converting the red 280z as well as the silver one I'm currently building but when you find such a good shell, it just has to stay as it was built. Moding the rest of it is great but leave the shell unmolested.

Well today I picked up a left hand drive dash and a load of other parts to start restoring for it.
It’s cracked so it’s either a good candidate for a vintage dashes new dash or a nice alcantara retrim...

Had a small tidy today as it was getting ridiculous with parts everywhere and started stripping some of the numerous running running gears I’ve acquired...still two car sets to strip down.

Gathered a few more bits over the last couple weeks.... Finally managed to find another S14a box, stripped two bell housings ready for machining and picked up another ZStory manifold for a great price.
Also got my block back from re-boring and cleaned. Painted it up ready for the shells/bearings which Im hoping will come within the next couple weeks.
Will need a better cam I think for this build but theyre not cheap with new lash pads, rockers and springs.

VHT GM Blue - same as my last one. Closest colour I could find without making special orders.

On the engine I got from Sk2 recently I have exposed what looks to be the original blue - it's a lot darker than that. I know these colours vary wildly depending on camera/phone/lighting etc

Actually the original paint on my old block was very slightly lighter with a tinge more green in it. The picture I have taken in the light at the front of the garage door.

Cleaned up a spare sump at the weekend. Waiting for the nice weather to start and my house renovation to be a little more complete before I can really sink into this...
