Mike/John, just to keep you updated I have booked a Bungalow at Domaine Long Pre from Thursday 16th May until Sunday 19th, free cancellation until 15th April on booking.com so nothing to lose really. Jake interested too, looks like we could get a convoy going ?

Sounds like a great meet up Sylvain

Well I've booked a room at Domaine Long Pre, so that's the first hurdle over.

Sylvain I will get the paperwork filled in and get it over to you asap.

Sorry Chris I wasn't paying attention and didn't see your post. I will stick with my booking anyway as it leaves things flexible and you never know I might actually bring some one with me as well.

Chris - I'm just looking at the same place as you. What have you booked? Price is cheap enough to book a 1 bed lodge just for myself.

I booked a bungalow with twin beds in one room and a sofa bed in the lounge as the price was only a tiny bit more than smaller units - so if /when one my boys or Jake or whomever decide to pitch up nearer the time they have a place to stay.

In the mail from the camp site note that linen is extra and you have to request it in advance if you don't want to bring your own.

I've booked a bungalow at the same place. Probably coming in the ratty LHD car. Will I be allowed on track or do I need to bring alternative ID :)

Great news John!

Ok next question what's the best route? Shuttle to France or I was wondering if it's worth catching a Ferry to Holand and then driving down?

Tunnel then head for Brussels, round the ring road and straight across to Spa. Quite a nice straightforward drive with a stop on the way. Probable an easy 5hrs from the tunnel.route to spa.png

I’m thinking about it depends on band duty as it’s hard being a rock god at my age and I hope Chris has a better tent than the one at Le Mans this year and isn’t going to be doing any flashing by the roadside as he did with Tim this year

Is there a deadline on booking for this?

I may well be interested depending on what fate has planned for my future over the next few months however I won't know till fairly last minute I would guess....

Well no idea where I'm going to be in the world yet but we've decided to pre-book accommodation at Domaine Long Pre as well!

Hopefully me and my dad will both be there, just need to sort the paperwork to get the tickets and the tunnel booked.

What time are people thinking of making the crossing? would be great to convoy with everyone....

A convoy to spa would be great. I’ve no idea yet on which day to go and come back let alone a time.

I have considered early Friday morning and then head across to Germany for a lap of the ring Friday evening.

We're planning on going out on Thursday morning with a view to return on Sunday evening after the racing finishes (Accommodation booked Thursday till Saturday).

Funny you should mention it, I've never done the ring before and noticed its only just over an hour away... Do you get insurance for it?

Always one to go with the Croud so Thursday to Sunday suits me too. May still nip over to the ring on Friday evening though. I think it’s open from 6:00 to 8:00 in the evening.

Not sure you can get insurance. I’d just take it a bit easy and treat it like a fast drive in the country with nutters trying to overtake.
