Looks good. Sean why isn't it designed to miss the floor?

Oops, missed replying to this :

Indeed they have ; these are handmade and somewhere along the line, the set-ups have either moved or the hands trembled - all sorted now BUT theses were always conceived as no-compromise competition performance upgrades, it hasn't been easy to modify them to fit todays' road performance cars !

Ryan - why all the tin foil inside ?

Hi Sean,

The Tin foil is just modern sound deadening. Supposedly quite efficient, while being quite thin..

Ref the popping, yes could be an air leak on the inlet manifold, troubleshooting it now (well this weekend). The HT leads don't connect properly on the coil pin, I have crimped them down as best I can (I have proper DIN connectors which will be fitted this weekend) so my working assumption at the moment is I am not getting full spark, so hopefully the popping is just unburnt fuel from that right now. We will see.

Thanks. Sorry but I cant offer as setup tips as I didn't build the engine.
Fit it, doing up fully the outer 3 bolts and just losely the 4 on the sliding part. Tension the tight side by turning the crank and take up all the slack on the Slack side by pushing and holding your thumb on the sliding part. Do up the remaining 4 bolts.

Front and Rear Bumpers on, off for a trip to get its interior sorted so I can have a few weeks off. To my mind that rear three quarter view is perfect.

Thanks all. I am very happy with the choice of wheels.

Had to be genuine Rays as well for me.

Interior progressing pretty well too. Hoping we have a mild Q1 2019 so I can take it out. Cant be long now.

Peanut butter on the centre console - will bring it up luvverly!

Yeah I haven't tackled that yet. I included it with the rest of the interior just as a guide for vinyl fitment, it needs some cleaning and polishing plus the PO drilled a massive hole in it for a red starter button. :puke:

Yeah I haven't tackled that yet

Like most restoration work the job is simple but tedious.
Hard vinyl needs to be scrubbed thoroughly with a 50:50 solution of TFR:water.
Small areas at a time. A nailbrush is ideal. This will remove all the ingrained dirt.
Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Then use Autoglym Vinly Rubber Care to give it a nice long lasting protective finish.
I have done countless panels using this process.
If you like peanut butter then make a sandwich to eat with it as its hard work.

Thanks Pete, I have the Meguiars equivalent which also seems to work well. That's what I was going to use on this, will give the TFR solution a try.

You need to get the panels 100% clean BEFORE applying any coating/treatment. Otherwise you are just sealing the dirt in.

Will give this a go also then pmac - the peanut butter was just in the cupboard, so I though, why not? Doesn't last as long though I should hazard ...

The wheels do look great. I hope to have a couple of sets of wheels eventually and would like a set of TE37V's to be one of them.
